Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here may recognize these older quick detach scope mounts/rings.

They came attached to a Leupold VX-2 3-9x40 that belonged to my late father. The scope was found stored separately from the rest of his collection, so unfortunately I don’t know for certain what rifle they originally came off of.

One possibility is that they may have been associated with his Sauer 80 in .300 Win Mag, but I can’t confirm that.

The mounts appear to be older European-style quick detach/pivot mounts. They are steel, blued, and have a lever-style locking mechanism.

Markings I found:
22.07.010
22.07.014
116.00.07.0002

Photobucket link for mount photos

I’ve attached photos of:
both sides
underside
locking mechanism
stamped markings

Mainly trying to identify:
manufacturer/brand
rifle compatibility
whether they are EAW or another German mount system
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I’m not of any help sorry. Do you have the bases? Is your dad’s firearm collection still in the family?

Yes, we have some. But he also loved to buy and sell rifles, so it may be from one he already sold. The ones that perhaps fit this style would be the .300 Win Sauer 80, or the .270 Win Heym Mauser 98 Sporter. The Sauer 80 has a Leupold scope on it now and the Mauser doesn't have a scope on it.
