A rare opportunity to own and shoot Canada's only non-restricted AK platform rifle. These don't show up on the market very often.

The Valmet M78 and M88 Hunter are also named specifically as protected from bans in the regulations. Historical Exemption: The legal carve-out for the Valmet dates back to the early 1990s, when a batch of these rifles was reportedly issued to Indigenous hunters for subsistence hunting.

  • All original and unmolested.
  • Bright bore with strong rifling.
  • Very clean, excellent condition.
  • Test fired by current owner. Cycles reliably and accurately with multiple
  • 308 and 7.62 loads.
Includes sling, bipod and 1 magazine (in excellent condition) - One extra magazine available for $350 additional fee.

Charges 15k for a rifle.
Can’t even throw in a $350 magazine.

This hobby is toast. We are just being milked at this point for every last dollar businesses can get.

Let me guess, buyer has to pay for shipping as well? lol.
What are you going on about? As if you were seriously considering purchasing this... those with the money to do so will have no issue buying the extra mag, if they even want it.

Special things have a special price. I agree it's very expensive and out of my budget, so is a Lamborghini. Guess what, that wouldn't have free shipping either, and an extra set of floor mats would incur an extra cost too.

Let us know how much free things you'll be giving away when you open your own firearms related business, especially with all the challenges in this country/current climate.

I agree 100% with you but nowadays every comment becomes an OP-ED. Lol even mine just become one. The world is ####ed.

There is nothing special about a Valmet AK. It is a slightly better built, stamped receiver AK, like tens of millions of others out in the world.

A Lamborghini is special and expensive because of the engineering and materials used to create it and the performance it can achieve.

A stamped receiver AK is not special in any way. The only reason that thing is priced as it is, is because our ####e govt has banned all the other AKs. It is a pure result of demand vs supply and CDNs only want it because everything else is banned.

Anyone who spends that kind of money on a rifle like that is an idiot.

As an addendum to the above.

IF the govt were to ban the SKS but leave a cutout for, lets say the Yugo SKS, because native hunters used that for hunting, then the price of Yugo SKS would end up in the $10,000 range and CDN gun owners would be fawning over POS SKS rifles and how amazing they are and dreaming of owning something they could never afford or justify to afford.

It's all BS. Govt bans don't make POS rifles into amazing pieces of technology, no matter what the market is willing to pay for them. 🤷‍♂️

An idiot with one of the only Valmet LMG in Canada.

People have to realize that there are those that would consider this to be well within their ‘fun money’ budget - I’m not there yet. 😮‍💨

… but with six kids we drop this much on a Maui vacation or cruise easy.

I understand where you're coming from, we all do. However our reality surrounding firearms/ownership in Canada is very different (worse) than the US, for example. Given our circumstances, you know very well that any Valmet IS indeed special. Especially this one! If it weren't, we'd all have one (e.g. SKS). We all share your frustrations brother.

Can you not read?

My statement is pretty clear.

It’s hilarious that they want someone to drop 15k+ tax but won’t throw in a 350$ magazine after that kind of patronage. What percentage of the price is that ? That’s a 2.3% discount..

Did you also ask the bank for a free welcome mat after setting up your mortgage? It's such a big purchase, it's the least they could do, right? Grow up, nobody owes you anything.

It's a consignment sale anyways, price is set by the individual. If you can afford a 15k firearm, you can afford an additional 350 dollar magazine. No one is arguing that the price is high. If it doesn't sell as fast as desired, I'm sure we'll see the price drop.

Bullseye is one of the best stores in Canada, full stop. They do offer free shipping (circumstantial), by the way.

I hear you but .308 Valmet magazines are rare as hens teeth.

He can unload it easy.

At the end of the day, something is worth what people will pay you for it. 🤷‍♂️

My dear friend, scarcity, whether created by human or act of god, will drive the price high.

Welcome to Capitalism 101.
