Redditor twistedhumoraffy posted some pictures and video of their Akdas with a Kodiak AR buffer tube and grip adapter that also includes a Triggertech trigger. They seem to like it so far. Apparently a metal handguard is also in the works from Kodiak

I'm really curious if anyone else has shot these for groups/precision? I did some testing on one of Gatehouse's Alcors last summer and it printed acceptable groups but it suffered from a wandering poi as it heated up (documented in another thread on here). I'd be curious to hear if anyone else has had the same issue or if that was a one-off issue. These Kodiak modded ones are interesting to me but I just can't justify $2k on something with that inconsistent a poi, I'd rather roll the dice on one of the newer Backland Hunters (that in my testing shoot very tight groups with 75gr handloads).
The barrel heats up and is definitely not an extremely accurate rifle. Good enough for what it is in my opinion. I doubt you will find anyone who bought this is shooting hand loads. How much does it cost you per bullet for hand loading 223? I am using the cheap PMC Bronze FMJ and it’s honestly been better than I thought before the barrel heats up. Once it heats up, it gets a bit wild but am able to stay on a 1 foot target with a red dot and 3x magnifier at 100 yards standing unbraced.
I might have to borrow my buddy's rifle again and revisit it with my 75gr handloads. When I tested it originally I used some random 55gr ammo he had as well as some Hornady 75gr Black ammo. The 75gr stuff printed ok (2-3moa) but the poi seemed to wander about 2 moa in between 5rd groups. It's possible that shooting 10rd groups like I usually do would just show this to be the precision level of the rifle, I just didn't have much of the Hornady Black on hand.
My .223 precision handloads are pretty inexpensive (75gr Hornady BTHP, 23.9 N150, CCI BR4/450) at around $0.60/rnd. I shoot the same load in a .223 bolt gun as well as carbines. I do like PMC Bronze for factory ammo in 55 and 62gr but mt handloads print way tighter in everything I've run them through and have much improved performance at distance.
Yeah, I mean we really don't have much for options these days in .223 semis. After having shot both I prefer the Backland and the Elite does seem to be much more reliable than the original one. My biggest issue is dropping $2k on a rifle that can end up with a prohib FRT any day especially when the only real reason I want one is to have a legal NR .223 semi. Somehow I think the Alcor is possibly less likely to get FRT banned (I think the Lab goofs hate Crusader) and the latest mods Kodiak has done make it quite appealing provided the wandering zero issue I had isn't common across all samples. I dunno...

Any word on if KD will sell the trigger conversions separately? I’d want the wood stock version with the ability to swap to a tactical mode for fun
