Winchester XPR 7mm-08.

I am also concerned that they won’t have one in 7mm-08…. Maybe I get upgraded to a 7mm PRC…. I have quite a number of 7mm projectiles, so I hope to keep it in the 7mm family. But would somewhat suck as I now have dies and brass for 7mm-08.
 
To add to the story: Today I received my replacement XPR in 7mm-08. 7 weeks and 2 days from when I first started communication with Browning Canada. Great service and communication with Browning Canada.

Now to get some time to get to the range and try it out. I will keep this thread going later with my future range report.

I shoot a 7mm08 in a Tikka T3x.I purchased lots of ammo to see what shot the best and mine likes federal premium with 149gr.barnes tsx bullets.
 
It showed some promise today. At lower velocities and lower powder charges, I was getting sub-MOA. As the powder charge (and velocities) increased groups opened up. 39gr of Varget behind a 139gr SST was the most accurate, but slow... 2555fps. 40.2gr of Varget was a bit faster (2650fps) and this is where the accuracy started to go sideways. Hornady Superformance factory with 139gr SST's were 2935fps but were absolutely terrible accuracy wise. I need to find the node above 39.0gr. This gun and caliber is going to be my kryptonite. The first gun would not get anything close to sub-moa, so this one is better. I will try some heavier bullets with some differing charges to see what happens.

Your original post has peaked my interest in this cartridge, but I'm also curious why Browning is handling the warranty on the Winchester product. Of course I understand who and where the the firearm is made. It's just that the package and rifle identify as a Winchester... Lol

FN Browning based in Belgium owns both Browning and Winchester. Canadian service for both is run through Browning Canada.

brus, speed aint doin the killen here??
my kimber 708 only does about 40gr varget --- lays them down out to 300m an proberly a bit better if i seen mr giant poking over the hill-
but otherwise i hunt in closer lol

What bullet grain, manufacturer, and model are you using with the 40 grains of Varget powder?

Woodleighs primarily. 140gr ppsn-

now im using 154 interlocks with 39gr
i shot 160 hot cor with 38gr
i shot 140gr corelokt ultras with 40gr
edit sorry forgot to add 139gr interlocks with also 40gr.
 
Try 6.5 Staball in it with both standard and magnum primers. Forget about the starting loads listed as the accuracy is usually terrible. But once you get the case full and start packing it in it will work. Several 7mm08 owners I know are getting very good accuracy with high velocities. I’ve tried it myself and it seems taylor made for this cartridge.
