What brand of brass ? And the lot # were ?Purely a curiosity, 2 bags bought off the same hook. I'd expect some weight variance per bag but not a gap of 4+gr between bags

Well then no wonder ! It’s junk brass could be 2 or maybe 3 different manufacturers in each bagSays Hornady in the thread title

wonder if there are more than one grade and how to find them
Funny how this is all so important these days.....Purely a curiosity, 2 bags bought off the same hook. I'd expect some weight variance per bag but not a gap of 4+gr between bags

I also see Hornady 'Match' ammo, including for 6GT, at a good price if you're a yank
"Specially Selected Cases
Cases are carefully selected based on strict criteria: wall thickness uniformity, internal capacity, case weight and consistent wall concentricity."
Just wondering are you a ranked competitor in matches such as SBR, LRBR, Varmint, TR or Fclass?Funny how this is all so important these days.....
Been reloading close to 50 years now, I probably shoot 5000 total rounds per year. (centerfire, rimfire, and shotgun total)
Never weighed a piece of brass in my life....
I know my left nut weighs more than my right nut. Yet they still shoot okay, well sometimes..........![]()
No. Should I have been?........Just wondering are you a ranked competitor in matches such as SBR, LRBR, Varmint, TR or Fclass?

All I am saying is that 4 grains difference in cases COULD make the difference in a SBR 5 shot group or a 15 shot F/O score.No. Should I have been?........![]()
Interesting!.....All I am saying is that 4 grains difference in cases COULD make the difference in a SBR 5 shot group or a 15 shot F/O score.
Maybe not a lot, but all things being equal , enough to turn a bull into an inner . In a hunting round with a big case a difference might not be noticed however.

Just buy Lapua or Alpha or Peterson brass and avoid the disappointment of Hornady etc#1 choice for 'what the Pros use' apparently
