I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that go for 2-2.5k?

It's not like you can walk into a store and pick one up new... Best case is NOS or mint condition used...

Pics?

It’s common for them to be missing along with the tool as well as the front sight hood (they style of hood switched sometime in the 600’s series)

The front sight below is the earlier style shared with the zg47 very easy to loose the hood.

The value depends on a few things. As mentioned, the pop up peep sight version is more desirable. Early or Pre 1968 manufacture (pre invasion) is more desirable. The european style stock is more desirable than the monte carlo stock version. The ones with the barrel band front swivel are more desirable. IF you had all the desirable features with the original bakelite butt pad, I would say $2000 ballpark. If you have none of the desirable features, $1500 or less.

For some comparisons...

I rather liked that set trigger at the range. I could live with that on all my rifles.
When I had the barrel chopped to 20" and the front sight re-installed I had to get a lower sight. When I replaced it I zeroed the the express sights with the new front sight at 25 yards then at 100 yards off bags using a large black inverted triangle on 11"x17" paper. I find aiming at the lower apex makes a good iron sight picture for me.

So I shoot a 100 yard, 3 round group (I know, I know) off the bags using the set trigger and Federal 270 gr. I look in the spotting scope and the rifle has printed a 1" group..........

With the express sights.

By a fairly 5hitty rifle shooter.

I never shot it with the express sights at 100 yards again..................................
