Shipwrecking Brass

Has anyone shipwrecked brass? I seem to be getting better results with pistol brass than i do with rifle brass, especially with 50 BMG. I hand polish the brass with steel wool before shipwrecking to remove any protective coatings, but still not shipwrecking to my satisfaction. Any suggestions?
 
The shipwrecking brass process i am familiar with uses ammonia and salts to simulate years or decades of salt water corrosion in brass fittings. It can be visually very striking on decorative pieces.

I don't think it's a good idea to intentionally induce extreme chemical corrosion in a cartridge case. I expect the process will damage and weaken a brass cartridge case.
 
I am not reloading the shipwrecked brass, I use it to make decorative lanyards, but I do agree with you, never mess with your brass if you expect it to contain the expected explosion

I am not reloading the shipwrecked brass, I use it to make decorative lanyards, but I do agree with you, never mess with your brass if you expect it to contain the expected explosion
