So, i suppose the time has come for me to pick up a new rifle. Not set on what i want at the moment, but i was kinda leaning towards maybe a k31, or maybe a ross rifle that i could modify to left hand.
K31’s are beautiful rifles, but ammo is hard to source. While .303 isn’t exactly plentiful, it’s out there, so I think I would lean towards finding a Ross…So, i suppose the time has come for me to pick up a new rifle. I'd go with a k31 if you reload as the rifles are much easier to find. So, i suppose the time has come for me to pick up a new rifle. Not set on what i want at the moment, but i was kinda leaning towards maybe a k31, or maybe a ross rifle that i could modify to left hand.
Reloading solves that nicely.K31’s are beautiful rifles, but ammo is hard to source.
Would you happen to know who would make the left hand conversion?K31 is the better choice as a lefty. No rear sight bridge to get in the way for putting your hand over it, or you can get the left handed K31 bolt attachment which works really well.
Thanks for letting me know. Ill have to take a look!Swiss products makes them. If you google ‘Swiss products left handed bolt’ you will find it. You might have to order it in from the states.
Alternatively there is one for sale with K31 on the EE right now.
I have a fellow cgner local to me that reloads, so he can help meIf you're going to shoot it regularly, reloading is a must.
If you don't reload yet, find a friend to teach you.
Loading for the K31 has fewer pitfalls than a Lee Enfield and longer case life.
I use a slip on pad for bench shooting, so I don't have to make any permanent modifications to a classic milsurp. Otherwise, you can get a plastic adapter that fills in the curve of the butt plate and lets you mount any conventional recoil pad to the flat surface of the adapter.Anyone have any ideas on a non invasive recoil pad?

I'd have to go dig it out. CGN user 'diopter' could tell you, he's a fount of knowledge and sources for Swiss rifles.Ok!
Who would make the adapter?
I was in my reloading room and dug out the recoil pad adapter. It is made by Swiss Products, like many of the other K31 accessories. You can see the contoured side that goes against the stock and the flat surface where you mount the recoil pad.Who would make the adapter?
