6.5 Needmoor ~ Federal +Peak

You're missing how industrial factories actually handle manufacturing metallurgy! When a major company like Weatherby or Christensen Arms prepares an assembly run for a high-pressure 80,000 PSI line like the 7mm Backcountry, they do not change the outside shape of the rifle to make it look different for marketing.

They upgrade the internal material specifications, structural tempering, and alloy selection to increase the steel's yield strength.

ONE does not got to CANADIAN TIRE for a Crankshaft for a dragster engine build just like a 7mm barrel is not used for a 7mmBC
Kid, stop. Just stop. We get it, you are an engineering student.

No manufacturers are doing any of that, for one specific chambering. A bunch of the companies that chamber 7 BC don’t manufacture their own components. Federal themselves talk about how the case is the difference, nothing else. If companies had to do anything different to chamber that cartridge, nobody would have chambered it for fear of liability.

All this fuss over a wannabe 270.

It's literally the greatest thing since the 100 year old 270, "Changes Hunting Forever"!

The Tikka T3X is a popular rifle that is manufactured in 1 action length, it is available in 6.5CM and 270 WCF.

Why should a guy buy it in 6.5CM and how does the +Peak ammo change hunting forever?

Federal did not just change the case; they had to completely change the chemical structure of the primer composition and shell case metallurgy just to keep the primer from blowing straight out of the case head at 80,000 PSI.
Federal built this themselves. not some side contractor.
The fact that Federal engineered the entire K510P18 / NM002C-01 configuration internally proves they had complete corporate control over both the internal safety warnings and the commercial retail packaging layout

what is happening here?

We have spent three days telling you the technology is in the case. Now you are telling us that the technology is in the case. Cool.

LOL!!! I'm way ahead of the ammunition manufactures with velocity, hence 2000 AD. My 270 Winchester has hyper-velocity accompanied with superb accuracy. My 240 wby, 257 wby 270 win surpasses all factory ammo and many relaads.1781382112892.jpeg

Most shooters are buying factory ammo and a 22" 270 is very likely to push a 130gr bullet @ 2950 fps

What a fool for using a rifle that burns lots less powder and gets a very similar 127gr bullet up to 2800+ fps lol. Turning a whole bunch more powder into noise sounds lots better ;)

Then there's how stupid it is to spend a G note on a rifle thats light, very well made, shoots great, is really reliable, etc like a Tikka. Wow.

Maybe some day I'll clue in lol

I ##### about nearly everything. Stuff, things and people I have no experience with are rarely among it all.

I'm the inverse I only ##### about things no one is forcing me to/I have absolutely no obligation whatsoever to buy ;)

Ammo is likely to be ~$100/box and whether it is really reloadable remains to be seen.

Sounds like an expensive way to get a 270WCF.

Light Magnum, High Energy, EtronX....

Wait, so rifle manufacturers AREN’T changing up how they treat barrels and actions because Federal developed a new proprietary primer?!?

Next thing we know you will be explaining to us how hard cast bullets bounce off of the extra sturdy Ontario black bear, again………

bah!!! I run 200grn bullets at 2960fps out of my 300WM, and 110grn out of the 25-06 at 3000+fps

don't need no stinking 80k PSI

it is kinda cool, but there is no way it doesn't shorten barrel life like any other overbore.

might have to buy a 6.5Cre now.... :) se how fast I can burn out a barrel.
