Awesome build and looks great. One suggestion is to move the rear scope ring back farther. It makes a much stronger set up if the gun ever gets banged or bumped. Just a suggestion.

Wife and I went out for a shooting date. This is the first time she's shot a rifle in 5 years. With a rifle that is too long for her and for a scope that isn't set for her she still did pretty decent with a 1 inch 5 shot group.

My new "Vietnam" M70 build

Brazilian contract Oberndorf Mauser action, 26” Gaillard barrel 1:10 RH twist threaded to accept ATRS three gill brake, chambered .308 Win match. Stock is CAF discarded C3 lumber with extension plates on the butt. Versa-Pod C3 bipod clone, optics are Vortex Viper PST II 16-24 x 50mm FFP MilRad reticle. It shoots true and is more accurate than I am capable of shooting it at this point.

For all the guys running the Choate stocks on the 700's: what do you think of them?

Pros/cons?

This is thd John Plaster stock on my Rem8ngton International Match 40x I like it, but not nearly as much as the factory thumbhole- but the Choate runs in the bags better when using a scope!

Close. I have a couple of the marksman stocks from Richard's. They don't quite match up to that. Might be slimmed down with some judicious sanding though. I have three 70's that I'm looking to stock with a similar looking stock. - dan
