Rem 700 AAC-SD BDM to AICS DBM

I tried searching on this and unfortunately I could not find what I needed.

My neighbour picked up a Rem 700 AAC-SD .308 with a hogue overmold stock and he wants to use a detachable magazine (AICS) versus the BDM. Never having owned a Rem700 myself, I know you can do it, and have seen the bottom metal offered by MDT, but I am not sure if he can simply buy one and drop one in, or does the stock need some inletting? Is the hogue stock ready to accept an M5 Badger profile bottom metal, and if it isn't, are there bottom metal that do not require inletting?

That rifle has what is commonly referred to as a short action Remington BDL inlet. So, you need bottom metal that fits that inlet.
M5 won’t fit, but can be made to fit with stock work.
AtlasWorks makes a bottom metal that drop in fits, and uses AICS mags. There are a few others as well. Not sure about MDT… call them and ask?

I bought the magpul hunter stock with the magpul AICS set-up. i love even tho its all plastic
