it is indeed a really nice one. But as I know myself, it might end up for sale in the rear futur 
I have owned several 1892's , and the original military finish is slightly different I am sure that at one point of its life it as been professionally reblued, but it is more black than the pics shows The brightness of the picture gives it a more '' MIDNIGHT BLUE'' look than actually is.

I'm also looking for ammunition myself.
Fiocchi is still making 8mm French revolver ammunition, if a Canadian importer would import a few cases it would sell fast that for sure!
Not cheap though! Midway USA has a price of $45.00 for a box of 50.

So what are these realistically worth?
I'm going to France for two weeks in May and saw one St. Etienne at the flea market in Paris for $1200 Euros last September.
It was unblued though, and a '73 I think, like this one.

The 1873s are the bigger 11 Mil French revolvers.
Alot were converted to 45 ACP and 455 Webley as there tough as nails Revolvers.
I just bought a very nice one.
The 1892s go from $450 and up in the US.
I prefer the 1873 converted to 455 Shooting the longer Domion 455 ammo there about as well made and strong a Revolver as you will get being a solid Frame like a SAA Colt.

This morning I have received this Antique French 1892 imported direcly from Alabama.
It is in beautiful shape.

I have imported and sold 7 of those in the last two years, and have never shot any of them yet. My real challenge is finding nice specimen and importing them once this is done, I need to sell to start the hunt again. But I have to admit that they are getting real hard to find in nice condition. and I must decide keep one for myself. But everytime I say '' I KEEP THIS ONE'' there is always another one sparkling to my eyes, or someone who want it more than I do.
