Winchester Xpert?

Does anyone have any practical, hands on experience with the Winchester Xpert? I have the Wildcat and it has served me well, but I've been hankering for a bolt action for a while, and the Xpert caught my eye. It seems like a nice budget option for lugging into the bush, and I already have a couple mags for it. However, i haven't heard much about how well it shoots, any potential problems, etc. Just curious if anyone here has handled/fired it?
 
Looking at sighting options for the Winchester Xpert, I see that someone recommends Weaver #16 bases, and Winchester sells a pic rail, and Talley makes rails and integrated rings, but is there anything else? Does anyone else make a high-quality Picatinny rail for the Xpert? Does anyone make high-quality (aftermarket) iron sights for the Xpert?
 
My only thought from trying it out in a store, is that the wood stocked version of Xpert requires a scope. The stock comb isn't that comfortable for actually using the iron sights as it seems to be designed for scoping it.

The polymer xpert doesn't have that problem I think as I assume it has an adjustable comb.
 
the new world of mass produced budget firearms are marketed in at a price point which the consumer will pay they replacing firearms that people would not pay for the quality price point
they are budget mined not quality minded
399.-599$ in todays firearm world does not speak quality its marketing
as always you get what you pay for
if you buy one and it suits your needs then it's a win
 
Wow, thread revival from 3 years ago! Haha, I never did get the Xpert, ended up buying a few different CZ's. Held onto a couple CZ 452's: a Scout and an American. Beauties and good shooters! That Wildcat of mine ended up with a friend
 
Turkey made guns, fit and finish is generally above average.
I have a Springfield 2020 Rimfire and haven't shot it yet, no time these days, but the fit and finish is pretty impressive.

I finally got my Springfield 2020 turkey gun out yesterday for the first time, it's not as accurate as my Bergara BXR or Ruger 77/22 but it's ok for the money, maybe I just haven't found the right ammo for it yet. It's greatest attributes in my opinion are the integrated pic rail and that it uses Ruger 10/22 mags of which I have lots!

The Springfield 2020 has poor accuracy in any performance reviews I have seen or read. I hope yours is better Hitzy!.......:)

Hence I decided to pass on this manufacturer......:(

Hey Bruce, I looked up some Winchester Xpert bolt action 22's like yours. I cannot find a wood stocked model with that cool looking brown/bronze Cerakote. Was that a Shot-Show Special?.........:unsure:

It's kind of making me horny baby!............:LOL::ROFLMAO:;)
