r pal question

got mine in 34 days to my mail box but my girlfriend sent hers in on the same day and hers will be here in a week or two and i have had mine for 2 weeks, the cfc told me the application process and the transfer process in ontario is like a rubber duck race in a pond you never know who will win or what log or lillypad you will get stuck on
 
It continues to say that your app has passed initial processing right up until the day they mail it.
You will undoubtedly see that message for at lest 3 weeks and probably 4 even, so until that time you just have to be patient I'm afraid. Again, make sure that your references return calls from the CFC or things will REALLY drag.
 
Ours got held up because of pre-hunting season renewals (ianwd was upgrading to RPAL, I was getting my PAL). The Alberta CFO office was very busy but we had a very nice guy there named Bernie who caught the problem with mine (I had to get a Dr.'s approval) but ianwd never once got a call about his references, only when he got his PAL. Bernie got ours up on the website (approval #s or something) within the week.
 
CFC got mine Feb 21 08.. been waiting since on the initial process part.
I used 2 co-workers and they were both asked if I had intimidated them into signing my forms.. and the ever popular... Have I ever had outbursts of anger or threatened either of them.. Also did either of them have any reason to suspect that I would use the associated weapons in a crime.
CFC phoned me at home for my day number at 1:30 Pacific time... 20 minutes later they phoned my cell phone as the night number.. I thought night was after 6 pm and if they aren't open then..maybe the CFC should delete that portion of the form and just ask for an optional day number.
One guy I used had a call to his home number where they left a message.. He phoned back and because it was on the same day they allowed the interview questions, otherwise he would have to wait for the paper that gave the reference stuff on it.. the other co-worker never was phoned but recieved the notice in the mail 4 days after the first reference guy placed his call. Little delay there. First guy that foned in received 2 letters from CFC the same day as second guy saying exactly the same thing.
Problem in BC is no CFO so it goes to BC first..then ALTA.. Then back to BC... Then to CFC ...then to me..
Should have it by June...
 
well just got off the phone with them its been 39 days since they got it and they told me is hasnt been sent out the second stage yet? so iam looking at another 4 weeks by my guess which is total BS in my opion. way 2 be cfsc! doing a great job.
 
So my ONline status wont change untill they ship it out? its just aggravating waiting for something for so long, its like christmass night 55 days long.
 
The rate I'm going, I'll get the thing about the same time I'm recovered from the bug I'm fighting (Viruses SUCK!)

If not, then I'll make some calls :)

ok heres a good one. i sent of for my rpal about 3 weeks ago. i all ready have my pal. it said that they had received it about a week later. then last week it said it had passed initial processing and was processing. then yesterday they did the calling thing to me and my refs. and then it got changed to this... Current Status: 173 whats 173 mean am i in trouble
 
They all say that for a bit in the middle. I think someone here said it had to do with the picture for the card.

I think it said that for a week for me. Nothing to worry about.
 
:D I just got a call from the CFC. They had a few questions & made a point about asking me about the one "yes" answer I put down (I get the winter blues, so I put yes for the depression question). I was nice & clear & made a point of telling the gal that I've never even been tempted to use a firearm of any kind to hurt myself, so she seemed quite relieved at that.

I figure better to be honest with em from the get go. Can't be denied for lying if ya don't lie & all that. Logic, scary eh.

HOPEFULLY I'll get the RPAL soon now.
