Hi everyone, welcome to my first post! I will shortly be coming into possession of a nice Lee Enfield No4 Mk1as well as a Soviet sks.
While both are in quite good condition, the bluing on the sks has almost entirely faded. I live on the west coast where it is quite wet most of the year.
I understand that rebluing a milsurp firearm is widely frowned upon and why. With the climate I live in and the frequency I will be shooting out in the elements I would appreciate any firsthand tips or experiences on protecting bare metal/worn finish milsurp.
Is it as simple as regularly oiling the necessary parts or are there some tricks or specific products I should know about?
Thanks for any help!
