870 cantilevered barrel optic mounting issue

Hi

I purchased a rifled 870 barrel with a cantilevered optic mount in the hopes of using it in the upcoming bear hunt. I also purchased a Vortex spit fire 3x (gen 1) as my optic. My issue is that the mounting plate does not line up with the slots on the cantilevered rail which isn’t like a traditional picatinny rail. Does anyone sell an adapter plate or something similar to make the two work?

Please feel free to move this if it is in the wrong section. Wasn’t sure if it was optics or hunting or another category.
 
I don't think there is an adapter available. I suspect even if there was one your Vortex Spitfire would sit so high up you would have a chin weld rather than a cheek weld.

I would suggest a red dot that sits lower or an LPVO with rings (you will have the same problem if you get another one piece mount).

Dump the spit fire, get a cheap scope and rings at the proper height. Won't make a difference at the ranges you are able to shoot. Don't just buy stuff thinking it will work in the future. Pay once, cry once.
 
Spitfire was a bad choice. A simple LPVO is all you need. Even the bushnell 1-4 is good enough for a slug gun.

The Alex's Homebrew is $350 at Rangeview.

 
So
I had a Bushnell Banner 3x on there and it simply would not hold a zero for more than three shots. Constantly adjusting it.

The spacer on the spit fire is removable so it sits an inch lower than on an AR platform.
 
Not sure of course but it sounds like you have a Weaver rail, and the Vortex has a picatinny mount. This is always an issue as the pic has a wider/thicker crossbar than weaver rails/rings. You will need to find a mount that is “Weaver” compatible. If you were using a red dot like the crossfire you could simply change to a 30mm ring that’s made for a weaver rail.

I am now seeing this isn’t a simple adapter plate issue. Looks like I am scope shopping tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the advice.
