Received mine yesterday from Al Flahertys. Good service and quick shipping.

Presents well for a factory 10/22. Sits nice and tight in the Hogue stock with no wobble or movement even with action screw backed out. Barrel is cleanly free floated with even spacing all around.

The new receiver finish seems harder wearing than the previous factory painted offering, though time will tell how well it holds up compared to aftermarket anodized options. Has a rear cleaning port, covered with a rubber plug.

Bolt/charging is smooth, and the BX trigger has a bit of creep in first stage but breaks pretty crisp. No overtravel.

The rear peep/front blade are comfortable and intuitive and seem solidly mounted. Rear peep is adjustable for windage and elevation, front sight is not adjustable for elevation.

I immediately dropped mine into a Magpul X22 stock to give me a little LoP/comb adjustment to find the perfect position to comfortably switch between scope and irons. I had to move my scope back two positions to allow for clearance for the ocular with the peep sight below, though it’s a very comfortable shooting position with the Magpul stock. I’m using medium height Burris QD rings with a Burris droptine Rimfire scope.

First impressions are good. Much better than the brand new 10/22 I bought a couple years ago which had clearly been slapped together with off centre sights and loose tolerances in stock.

Will get out to range this weekend and try some groups alongside my SBI C71 and report back..
 
I bought one before they changed to standard BX triggers. Mine has the gloss black finish and blued bolt. Added a VQ hammer kit and dropped it in a brown target laminate oe stock. Machining and bluing on the barrel is really well done with the only markings being under the barrel. Haven't shot it yet but it is a really nice rifle.
 
I put mine back in its hogue stock as I found it too heavy in the Magpul for my usage.
Took it to the range today. Fired around 100 rounds. Grouped well at 50yds with CCI SV. No malfunctions. Tried a few double taps and easy to stay right on target.

Here’s three groups at 50yds with CCI SV on 1 inch targets. Did that repeatedly. Tried removing my scope and reinstalling - maintained perfect zero.

There was a bit of wind today, but at 100yds I was landing all 10 shots within a 3” circle. I’m sure that can be improved upon as I was testing my holdovers at the same time amd not entirely consistent.

I didn’t have time to check the irons, but looking forward to getting them dialled.

So far seems a pretty good shooter for a stock 10/22.

Those are good groups for a stock heavy-barreled Ruger 10/22.....:)

You may want to try CCI Blazer 22 LR ammo as well. I have very good luck with the Blazers.

I wonder what Lapua Center-X ammo would look like at 50 yards?.........:unsure:

We love the Ruger 10/22 platform. Yours looks real nice!......:)

It would look like $24 or more outtah yer wallet! The results would more than likely be better but yah never know. The results Morp achieved with relatively $$ friendly ammo is great in my opinion! For the difference in price I’d be loading up on that lot number he was using!! Good shooting Morp

Agreed, on all counts!.......:)

I did however stock-pile on 22 LR ammo several years ago. I had a feeling the availability might become sketchy, and I thought the price was going to rise significantly. Well I was correct on both.

Back then I bought Center-X for $18.00 per box of 50 rounds. Blazers were $3.99 per box of 50.

I saw Blazers at $9.99 per box at Canadian Tire the other day. Way too expensive when one can still find them for $6.00 per box, or even less when on sale.

The weight completely threw me off as well but I haven’t weighed it. Definitely feels around 6 pounds out of box.

Edit: Just weighed it without mag and it comes to exactly 6 pounds.

I bought a standard one.
16" threaded barrel in a new pseudo magpul stock.
First impressions were pretty good.
improved finish on receiver and the included rail. decent trigger and auto bolt release.

Have shot it with a couple of different red dots and it does just fine.
I might put an actual scope on it to see but my previous "compact" 16" shot really well with CCISV or anything else I fed it frankly.

That rifle has close to 1500 rds through it and (knock wood) not a single misfire or misfeed so far.
 
A a little more ammo testing today.

After sighting in a few rounds up top;

1st row of three targets are Cci 40gr Sv,
2nd row of two targets Cci 36gr hp minimags (don’t know why I bother with this stuff!)
3rd row down, Eley Contact 42gr
Bottom row, Aguila SV 40gr.

Seems to prefer Eley contact and CCI SV. After the groups pictured, I ran a few more mags of these rounds through and the results were very consistent. Always within the 1” target. I didn’t take any callipers but I will next time.

I’ve had four 10/22s, both OEM and aftermarket and this has definitely been the most accurate so far.

Hello. I am a new PAL holder and picked up a 32024 as my first 22, first 10/22 and first firearm. It's primary use will be targets are the range, with possibly some plinking. I am looking to develop skills and increased confidence around firearms.
I put 100 rounds of 36gr CCI MiniMag through it using the aperture sights at 50 yards, and I also picked up a Vortex Triumph HD scope. I've heard a lot of different information about selecting a scope, and I'm really not sure if I got the "right" one, but I was out of budget room. My initial plan was to pick up the 10/22 combo kit with the cheap scope included, but the features on the 32024 seemed to good to pass up - so I spent more on the rifle, had to buy a case and there wasn't a lot left for the scope. My local range shop gave me what I consider a good deal on the 32024.

I've signed up for a Mapleseed to try and learn how to get the most from this rifle. I realize the bull barrel is heavier for offhand shooting, but a lot of its use will be on a bipod or bags - at least that's my intention.
Of course, after spending my budget I found a Magpul Hunter stock mispriced at a big box store so I had to grab that, and now I am over-budget, and have both a Hogue and Magpul stock which seems a little funny (Hunter stock hasn't left the box so far). I was able to get the Hunter stock for $119 due to the pricing error.
I've got a few difference types of ammo ready to try out (more MiniMags, some CCI Standard Velocity, some Blazer and something else I can't remember.
OK now I'm waiting to hear what I've done right and wrong. I figured I had to dive in and start learning - as I mentioned I thought I would start a little cheaper, but I wasn't sure I would see a 32024 again for awhile, and certainly not at a good price.

For my attempt at feedback on the 32024 rifle (from a newb):
  • It's surprisingly heavy compared to other 10/22s and 22s I've shot (have never shot a 22 in a full size rifle stock such as an American)
  • I like trigger - but I have little to compare to
  • The aperture sights worked great for me at 50 yards
  • Fit and finish seem quite nice - but I don't love how rough the inside of the receiver is.
  • The Hogue stock feels good and is really nice, but I'm not sure I'm getting good placement relative to the scope
  • To me it's screaming for a bipod

You can polish the receiver quite easily, block of wood with paper 400 and finer. Radius tha back of the bolt. Purchase an aftermarket bolt buffer (pin that stops bolts rearward travel. They’re cheap and it will make the gun quieter and save your receiver from abuse, they’re available from site sponsors, Volquartsen,Kidd,TandemCross etc all have them!! Two shovels out of the hole so far, best of luck.

I have an update for those interested in a Ruger 10/22 32024.

As mentioned I originally put 100 rounds of minimag through it using the ghost ring sights. As that session I had no FTE but a few jams loading from the magazine (maybe 2) - however they were all caused by user error - a rookie mishandling the cocking handle from inexperience and nerves.
To try and ensure the gun is reliable I took it down and cleaned it, and also mounted the scope mentioned above. I then ran 425 rounds of 38gr Blazer, 70 rounds of minimag 36gr varmint , 10 rounds of CCI 40gr std velocity and 10 rounds of CCI quiet semi auto through it. These were ran through 3 Ruger BX-1 mags. I am pleased to report that it ran flawlessly with zero failures of any kinds.
The best group of the day was 0.41" (13/32") at 25 yards using a front bag. However the average of measured groups was closer to 0.625" with several at 0.75" so the user has some learning to do.
I am very pleased with the performance and I believe it speaks to a well assembled rifle.
For info the action screw was torque to 20 in-lbs and the Vortex rings were torqued to their specs. I do think I may have to adjust the sight location to optimize it for me.
Last bit of info - I am already seeing the limitations of having fixed parallax on the scope. At 25 yards I could not have both the targets and the reticle clearly focused at 25 yards. I could have both clear enough for it to work, but they weren't both truly focused - it was one or the other.
