Is the Swiss SG 550 ACTUALLY the Best Rifle Ever Made?

I watched this video earlier this morning and wow what a great look into the factory and how rigorous their testing is. I wish I had picked up one before the issues started, hopefully everything gets sorted out and I will be able to buy one. Id even buy just the 20" barrel

So the Swiss division of Sig Sauer is still making these?
Think Swiss arms was spun out of sig sauer Germany years ago, and then SIG sauer Germany's Sub SIG USA basically went independent after SIG Sauer Germany folded itself. My guess is that SIG germany sold shares in SIG USA to other investors, get cash and/or SIG USA shares. German shareholders then wound down the company or left it as just a holding company of SIG USA shares.

I really enjoyed mine and always felt it was a true Rolls Royce, treating it with the care and respect it deserved.

Never dropped it once :)

Yes, and the current SG56X iteration is even better. Weight is the only concern but they do run forever for atleast 30k with no parts breakage/degradation.

It was was made to shoot 7.62 so its a tank for shooting 5.56 but balanced in the hand. I miss my CQB more than any I have sold.

The swiss army only full time "special forces" recon unit ditched the SG553LB switched to LMT StG25 ( basically a push rod LMT MARS) some years ago.

They basically admitted Stg90 is outdated but they aren't going to replace it, because it still gets the job done for what it is.
