What’s your main complaint with new lever action rifles, I was considering one of these.

poor quality buy a proven gun both marlins and win have been making lever 3030's since the turn of the century the others manufacture simply make junk but buy whatever you like
40 years of retail guns sale and repaire you get to see a lot of what does not work

What about post 64 Winchesters? I hear a lot of complaints about feeding/ ejection issues. I’m going to use your experience for the next buy. Cheers.

i like the win94s because they are lighter and slimmer than a marlin 336. if you are sticking with irons i would go with a 94.

i like to put scopes on things so i tend to lean towards 33marlins.

right now i had a old H&R 058 30-30. it’s small and lite. trying williams peeps on it see if i can refrain from scoping it. lol.

30-30 is a awesome cartridge. as long as you aren’t taking 300yrd shots or craving the new hyper velocity stuff.

i’ve shot a lot of game with 243 up to 375ruger/.458” stuff. i’d say 95% of that game could have been cleanly take with a 30-30.

There were issues, but I think by the mid to late 70's most of the issues have been resolved.

I have had my 94AE since the mid 80's. no problems

Just picked up a 336 rc jm marked(I guess that means older and better).
I took it completely apart and the only thing I find wierd is the forearm is only held together by a fake screw.By this I mean it's a screw slot but no threads on the other side of the barrel band.You just tap it in.Anyone find that wierd?
