The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

Going to try out some 168gr tmk in lapua brass (lapua box too big for flat rate box so seller used the peterson box) over some varget and cci 200
Already found a nice charge for the 168gr smk so doing a ladder around that range and moved my day off to the one day next week without too much rain so will see how she goes. The smk were about 2620fps out of a 18” pipe tikka hunter in .308

Been awhile since I did any .45 ACP, so I loaded up 50 rounds of 230 grain plated RN bullets from Frontier ahead of 6.4gr of SR4756 and another 50 with 7.2 grains. I’ve never tried the powder in anything but .40 S&W, but I have a couple of pounds that I need to use in something. Also did 100 rounds with 5.4grains of W231.

Another 100rds of 6.5 Creedmoor.
140gr Barnes MatchBurner over 41.5gr H4350 yields 2725 in my 24” 5R heavy barrel.
Starline Brass.

So fun to shoot this round i sometimes cant stop myself.

Scores at 1460 yards yesterday.
I am about to start building a load for this bullet exactly. what seating depth are you using as sounds like that would be a great place for me to start.
Thanks

2.8.
I just noticed this last batch was a bit long at 2.85 to almost 2.9. (Tip variation in this bullet can be noticeable).
Better to measure a base-ogive which for me is 2.171.5

They shot well as far as i know but i was only shooting 600 and beyond so i sont have a 100 zero to compare.

IMR has a pistol reloading booklet you can usually find online and download that has 4756 data for all the popular handgun cartridges. I've been using up a couple of kegs I bought a while back now. - dan

Sunday session of 45 rounds for optimal powder test + pressure ladder test:

6.5 PRC
  • 15 x N565
  • 15 x Retumbo
  • 15 x H1000
Components:
  • 144 Berger LRHTs
  • Lapua brass (virgin, but mandreled w/ neck tension of .002")
  • CCI-BR2 large rifle primers
  • COAL: went with magazine length, so ~2.955" - 2.960"
Looking forward to calibrating GRT with my chrono data!

Started some 6mm Creed 107gr Sierra TMK this morning over 41.4grs Viht N555. Hornady brass, CCI 200 primer

Initial test this spring gave me a 0.75moa 10 shot group at 300m, so confidence is high to just go ahead and make up a hundred of these.

6.5x55, Vihtavuori N150, Hornady 140gr ELD-M bullet, got 2,450fps and 3 shot ,100yd group of 3/4" with my average condition M38 carbine.

Found what looks like a once fired Nosler 280 Ackley Improved brass in the range junk brass bucket ( where you can dispose of brass for club to sell). It looks like they go for $3.50+ a rd for the brass. I guess there is a millionaire shooting at our club:eek:

pulling that up in GRT that's a very full load. But I've got a shorter barrel and the like so we'll see if I can push that much without signs. As I was looking for this to be a 500 yard load I'll start with that seating depth and see where I can find a node as I get up to 41.5.
Thanks for the direction

Eons ago, when I first got into reloading, I recall having a paper booklet with IMR reloading data. I’ll have to check online for that online version. Thanks👍.
