At last weekend gun show here in Whitehorse there was a nice 1640 featherweight in 30-06 with peep sight in really good condition(only a small repair on the stock behind the action) for $650! If it would have been a 308 I would have grabbed it!!

I've seen some crazy stuff, but there is a HVA 1900 in 300 Win, bare bones just listed on the EE, for $1650 lol.
The sales pitch is pretty used car salesman type, but if that sells for that price, I may grab dozens of them off Intersurplus and double my money lol.

This is not an intersurplus gun. And it’s not a bare bones gun either. It is a Model 8000 Imperial Deluxe. They are sought after especially the lower serial number early years. Educate yourself about them. I have sold a few of my Model 8000 Imperial / 9000 Crown Grades in excellent shape always in the $1,500 to $2,000 dollar range. And I have sold a Zoli Deluxe for $2,500 you can see in the link below.

I’ve sold quite a few of my 1900s that are intersurplus/ tradeex regular 1900s hva’s, gustavs Vikings and other 1900 clones usually for $675-900. This is not one of those guns… I’ve owned over 30 of them including most of the clones, like a Verney-Carron 1900 Battue Carbine, rarely seen on Canadian market.
A newer made zoli will run you $1300, and you can’t compare the steel quality or the manufacturing process to the original 3XX,### serial Husqvarna guns

Fair enough, it’s definitely not unfired but in excellent shape and a lot of value for the money especially now in 2026 when a painted XPR sells for $1,100 at cabelas. If it sells it sells, my price is flexible, if it doesn’t I’ll gladly keep it and hunt with it this season. Lot of my whitetails have been taken with some sort of a 1900. They are great guns.

From what I’ve seen I think that m8000 300 is a good price, if I had the budget at the moment I’d snag it at asking price. Unfortunately I don’t
I usually do not price guns here, simply because the price is based on how bad someone wants it.
The real 8000/9000 HVA and or Tradewinds 8000/9000 marked, in the serial range 3XX ### with 1" sling swivels are looked after. Any other FFV-HVA-CG or Viking marked rifles also are well sought after, and I personally rate the original Tradewinds imports slightly higher than most of the 3/4" sling swivel workhorses from the newer imports.
As for the Zoli 1900, they always have nicer wood than the original 1900, except for the Presentation models.
Probably been discussed in this tread somewhere and i will continue to scour but in the mean time .....
So I aquired a nice lil 1640 in 30-06 awhile back and in recently messing with it i come to find out it needs a new extractor unfortunatly.
I would hate for this classic just to sit and gather dust but have had no luck sourcing a replacement one.
Hoping for any leads or the name of a smith preferably in Alberta who can fix,find or make one for me.

Intersurplus (site sponsor) might have one. Seems right now they don't, but if you reach out to Denis, he may fix you up with one when he gets some in. It's also possible to buy the entire bolt assembly (more expensive, but also more spare parts).
You might be able to make an m96 extractor fit (this has beeen discussed above here). The latter requires some gunsmithing (I have never done this, but read it can be done).

The problem with machining up a new extractor (probably not a hugely difficult project in a procedural/technical sense) is getting the right kind of steel, which has the right EM but which can be spot hardened (on the claw) so that it doesn't wear out or crack under repeated cycling and firing loads.
