What to do???

I just bought a used Winchester M70 in .308. Now, do I keep it as is and let my daughter use it or do I make something interesting out of it? Any ideas?

Depending on the condition, refinish it. Mount a nice sight or scope, teach your daughter to shoot and enjoy this rifle together as it was meant to be used; carried afield and cared for that only a hunting rifle can be treated.

Leave the tacti-crap to the others. Congrats on the find.

That depends entirely on how much you like to shoot with your Daughter.....as in will it make you happier to see your Daughter shooting with a decent firearm that she is proud of......or would you be happier to have just another toy for yourself to play with.

Personally I myself would opt for having a Daughter that is proud of her firearm and proud of shooting with Dad.

if she is small or recoil sensitive make sure to start her off with managed recoil ammo.

Keep if for your daughter. You can load down a .308win to feel like a 243win. if you need to. Also, you won't need to look for another rifle for her down the road; it's a rifle that she can grow into, not 'out of'.

The plan I have for my kids is to eventually use my 308 Ruger - when I'm not using it. Of course, that is a few years away, but I am prepared.
