My new truck gun! (CZ bolt action in 7.62x39)

So I recently picked up this, and before the hate cascades over me, I do NOT buy new CZ after their gun buyback betrayal, but this one was bought used and pre-dates their sellout.

It's really too bad they stopped making the CZ527 mini mauser action in favor of the CZ600 that I guess is trying to out A-bolt the A-bolt? Dunno, but it's not for me. These older ones though are awesome little mag fed controlled round feed wonders. This one is in 7.62x39, which will give my .30-30's a run for their money for handy carry around options this fall.

If anyone else has cool 527's to show off, I'd love to see them.

Haven't had it long enough to shoot it yet - that will be this weekend, I think, or maybe next weekend (depends what the boss has planned for me). I have 60 rounds of reloadable brass cased S&B FMJ on hand I'll shoot off, then will reload with 123 gn Hornady Interlocks I think.

The only other "hunting" ammo I have on hand is some steel-cased Wolf hollow point, but that stuff is not too great compared to brass cased reloads.

I also have a few thou rounds of copper washed chicom corrosive suff for the SKS that I suppose I could run in this gun for cheap, if I clean well afterward.

On the bright side, I do have a second mag - and they are made of rocking horse poop in Canada for whatever reason.

Nice piece of kit. I regret not buying one prior to CZ pulling the plug on the 527. Likewise I will no longer support Colt CZ and their subsidiaries with any new purchases.

Great guns! Yours looks to be in excellent shape! I bought a x39 in March, Haven't shot it a whole lot yet, After a month or two of a WTB for the Carbine in 223 finally had someone offer one last month for $750!!!! Bought it instantly of course, It looks unfired, I haven't taken it out to shoot yet, Maybe tomorrow!

I stripped the stock of the x39 and re stained it. Not sure if it looks better or not, But it was a ton of work to get the old lacquer off.

Nice 527! I almost bought the same gun this weekend. Sights had been removed but the rest of the exterior looked really nice. The bore was a different story. It had obviously been shot with corrosive and not cleaned. Lots of brown active rust. It was super cheap and might still have shot well once cleaned but I have too may 7.62's already.

Was always on the dream list, tried to get a few people to make one for me, never had any luck, and then last year 2 came for sale on here, so I had to get one! Wasn't cheap but I'm happy with it!

I did enjoy the one I had, shot the cr@p out of it. The bolt never smoothed out for me though, so I fell out of love. Still think about her sometimes

I was absolutely worried about this, I ended up piller bedding both action screws and took a tiny bit of wood off the tang as well,

Probably the large by modern standards amount of throw that requires high rings so the scope doesn't get hit by the bolt or your fingers.
If I had one I'd put a NECG peep on it and not bother with a scope.

It's a common issue easily solved by bedding the stock.

Cz should never have stopped production

Later models have a little plastic spacer in the stock behind the recoil lug, I guess it prevents cracking by preventing wood compression.
I have one if the later ones in x39.
