Hey appreciate it, I’ve been looking at sites no luck on my end, but I’ll take that info and hope I can compare it a little before I loadWin 748- Sierra 180gr RN
30gr-1835fps
31gr-1903fps
32gr-1977fps
This was from a lever gun website so use at own risk starting with lowest charge.I've loaded the 30gr in my 94 carbine with no issues but never tried highers loads. Accuracy was good.
One would hope that 190 gr bullet is designed for and suited to 30-30 and 303 Savage velocity, which the bullet OP asked about is not.Explain the 190gr .303 Savage
Let me know when you find that article, we can talk more about it then.A guy posted an article I can't seem to locate showing nicely expanded Hornady 180gr RN bullets loaded in a 30-30 so expansion is not an issue. I've also used pulled Dominion 180gr KKSP's in a 30-30 and they expanded just fine.
Velocity vs bullet construction is important in a hunting bullet but not so much for target shooting. Since the intended use was not mentioned in the OP, maybe he is going to use them on silhouettes and gongs. How is this bullet unsuitable from a 30-30 for targets and steel ?The reason you can't find loads for that bullet is because that bullet was designed for velocities much higher than the .30-30 is capable of producing, at least at sane .30-30 lever action pressures.
IF, however, you are using it in a Ruger #1, #3 a Remington Model 788 or a T/C, Sierra has data for it, albeit not Hornady's version of a 180 gr. RN bullet.
