Winchester Model 12 Question

Hello,
I have a Winchester Model 12 made in 1927. This is a 12 gauge in average condition and functions as it should. This shotgun has a 32" barrel, plain barrel, no solid or vent rib. I am doing some research and I think it would have been the model that Winchester marketed as the Heavy Duck Gun.

If there are any Model 12 folks out there and can enlighten me it would be appreciated and I am also wondering what the value would be?

Start at $300? Enthusiasts of the Model 12 would say double that.

If it is a heavy duck it would be in 3", I know the two I have seen are and so is mine.
I haven't looked at mine for a bit but I believe it is stamped Heavy Duck as well

If its a heavy duck should say 3" and super speed & super X

And it should be heavy no pun intended the buttstocks have a lead weight in them. also most had a solid red recoil pad with the Winchester logo. Mine is 32 inch with a solid rib gun is in great shape I think I paid $600 or $700 for it years ago.

Thanks folks. I am going to assume mine is a standard model 12 with a 32 inch barrel and 2.75" chambers now.

I believe the Model 12 Heavy Duck Gun was not introduced until 1935.So 1927 would be too early.

Here's what the heavy duck barrel should look like. 1935 - 1951 iirc. This plus the red recoil pad = heavy duck.

Sounds like its just the standard model, but they are still great guns with awesome slam fire. They start around $300-$450 depending on condition

Thanks folks. It is a cool gun at any rate and will be 100 years old next year. I appreciate your help. I can return the favor when it comes to Savage 99's or Winchester 94's. lol

As far as value if someone offers you 300$ for and your wanting to sell it grab the cash and run
Sadly model 12 standard grades have little value
Off coarse there will be sales experts chiming in on this but i will list r samples
The last gun show i was at 1 month ago the fellow the fellow across from my tables had 4 12 ga model 12's standard grades you pic 300-325$ he did not sell one in fact no one even picked them up !
He also had 5 standard grade 16ga guns you pic 350$ he sol one

you could buy one anywhere for 300$ go to ellwood epps they have many at 300-400 $
the ones on gun post and Ee are never sold very un knowing sellers on these sites

Literally have owned 2 of them in the last 5 years, neither was more than 400 and both were is great shape. One even had the polychoke and the other is a 1940s model

Struff how come the ones I purchased from you cost me more than that ? Just saying! A parts gun is worth more than that.

32" barrel models fetch a bit more $ as they were produced in much fewer number. I have a 32" Heavy Duck in the gun safe. Memory tells me 1946 or 1949 production. Heavy Ducks were not introduced until a few years after yours was made.

That "trap" model at North Pro is not an original trap.
