Well this issue is significant and they’re probably still processing and shipping orders

Half the people that ordered probably asked them some type of question


They said they’ll save one for me next shipment, and I could return this one now or use it for now if the issue isn’t detrimental to the function and safety

Finaly got a reply after a week. They will replace my unit. I wish I could fix it but at this point were talking out of spec part and im no machinist

If I had to guess the lady doing the customer service just got back from her days off and thats why we are all getting reply now.

Yes a meant the lifter. But the root cause is the shell latch/bolt release assembly. On one side the shell latch rub and prevent the the shell from exiting the mag, especialy with 3inch, and it also cause timming and presentation issue. On the other side of the same part it create rubing on the reciever making the bolt release not working.

The lifter itself is fine.

So the issue with mine was the pin internal to the bolt release / shell holder lever came out and was binding up the lever. I staked it down with some bearing retainer and a center punch. Works best kind now. Just need to put few hundred more shells through it, and maybe one day it will cycle target load.....

I Think many people will have this issue. The pin was not even friction fit, not sure how it lasted as long as it did. the GEN III's will need this corrected from factory.

Somerset Bar had the same issue but different symptom. His bolt release would not work at all like mine. He fixed it just like you.

100% yours should be replaced, that was unacceptable. However, our problems were operational, not cosmetic, so when they jumped on your request, and ignored the others (I never did get a reply), it sort of highlights that they ARE watching and reading carefully, but selectively only picking those that make their product LOOK bad, not at all worried about guns that don't function.

I'm still thrilled to own this, and it's still some of the best fun I've had with a shotgun, but it'll be a long long time before I ever sing the praises of Tactical imports and their "lifetime" warranty. It's lifetime, (unless they don't feel like dealing with it), then it's NO warranty. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, I think every one has this fault, just a matter of time. The channel the bolt release is in doesn't retain that pin, which I assume was the original intention.

I'm probably going to remove my "fix" from this thread. Since TI has no interest in dealing with this, I don't need people accusing me of showing illegal gun modifications or something, plus I have about as much incentive to "help" TI as they did in helping me.

I received nothing at all. Glad to hear they're going to replace yours, I hope they are covering shipping back to them??

For my part, I'm just done telling people how I fixed mine, let TI deal with all the issues. 100% every gun is going to have a bolt release issue until they fix that part, and it's "just" difficult enough to do that not everyone is going to be willing to do it (nor should they have to).

I offer them to simply send me the bolt release assembly. Instead of me shipping the whole gun and waiting months. They could easily grab a spare on another defective unit. This could be a win win for both of us. If it dosent work its how the reciever was machined. Havent heard back yet. Im gonna give them the week to reply and then send the gun.

Why? TTM and a short window of opportunity. Plus, just look above — many CGNers are happy despite the POS quality (personal opinion, not binding). And if you check Reddit posts it's even worse - THEY SEE NO ISSUES at all, as in "excellent QC!... gun is falling apart itself after 300 shells.."
It would be a stupid decision for any manufacturer churning out guns for the Canadian market to invest in unnecessary steps, lose time, and sacrifice profit. Because currently it's a WIN (manufacturer) - WIN (importer/retailer) - WIN (customers). Everyone is happy, we don't want it changed.

If the original idea was that the pin should be retained in the channel... then TI could very inexpensively source slightly longer pins that could be used on units sent in for warrantee. Or ship to end users that would probably find easier to install then trying to stake a small hardened pin. I should have checked the dimeter of the pin when i had it apart. If mine ever works out again, I may try just ordering an amazon pin set and making such a pin to length.

I thought Turkish quality was getting better as time went on, or not…
These would make a cool wall hanger though

I hold confidence if i put in time and effort i can make a reliable shotgun that will remain in my top favorites (yes, I have top end semis to compare it to). To be honest if i end up rebuilding half of it to do it, it will just mean that much more to me in the end.
 
I’m sure TI will get the problem child’s sorted out and everyone will end up with a functional gun
The next batch should have the issues ironed out
I have the fx elite and it looks to have the identical type of bolt release/shelll stop mechanism and it’s been good so far, knock on wood…
