Brigade Makasi MK15 We're back in business!!

Is it just me, or is the 15" handguard’s rail still misaligned with the receiver’s rail? If so, I would wait more to see final production into Canadian customers before dropping nearly $3k into this gun. Not being picky, but they claim they’ve fixed all the known issues in this production run. However, at first glance, even a random picture online seems to suggest otherwise. Of course, it’s a tiny detail and wouldn’t affect the gun’s operation.

Backup Iron Sights are not an option for anything beyond point blank with that much misalignment without a good deal of adjustments.

Reminds me of my JR Carbine and how I ended up getting an LPVO for it. It will be missed.

Claiming to fix all reported issues then showing up in a gunshow with a misaligned handguard is giving me 2nd bad impression of how the manufacturer is handling QC

So what I’m getting from everything is all Canadian import Makasi’s will have the QC “upgrades”

Gravel is importing the original 12” handguard models and they will arrive first

NS is importing the FDE and 15” handguard versions but they will be arriving some unknown time later

The Gravel 12” handguard black Makasi’s are not inferior build quality whatsoever and they arrive first

To further increase accuracy of the firearm, as there would be less reciprocating mass over the barrel, and allow re-use of parts from safe-queen AR builds, how hard would it be to convert the Makasi to DI-ish internal piston? Would you just need to make a custom bolt carrier with vents out the ejection port connecting to an actual gas key rather the a blind hole and a standard AR bolt with gas rings? Would you need a collar to seal the gas tube inside the hole the pistol comes through? I imagine an adjustable gas block would be must, as there would be no buffer weights to tune.

LOL, admittedly, it's a bit autistic, but if someone has a beautiful, precise barrel sitting in an AR collecting dust or attached to a manual action chassis, a DI Makasi may be of interest. If Kodiak Arms can make an AR trigger/ pistol grip / buffer stock lower for the Akdas Alcor, would it not be possible to make a custom Makasi BCG, for example?
