Wow, an actual answer to a question, no BS, no attitude, just facts. 45ACPKING, I donāt think you belong here.to give a straight answer, upland game birds such as pheasant, grouse, partridge ect and other small game such as bunnies.
Ducks and Geese
Fur bearers such as coyote, wolf
and big game such as deer and black bear.
BC allows for use of shotgun for big game for deer and bear only. I imagine other provinces are similar.
Thank you, game birds seem like a good option.to give a straight answer, upland game birds such as pheasant, grouse, partridge ect and other small game such as bunnies.

Shoot what you like to eat, and eat what you shoot..I just recently picked up a SP-4 12ga and am wondering what would be good to hunt with it? I'm in northern Alberta and am not sure what to go for. Any suggestions would help.
My main thought was the length of the barrel. It's too short for duck hunting from what I can tell. I bought it because it was a decent price.Huh? These new members seriously ask some of the weirdest things.
All 12ga is the same once it leaves the barrel.
shotguns are useful for black bears and deer as well using slugs or 00 buckshot. You just need to check your area's regulations. I've got no idea what is permissable in Alberta when it comes to shotgun regulations for hunting. I know a couple guys that use 12ga slug guns for bear and deer here in BC.Thank you, game birds seem like a good option.
