Thin Grips for Sig P226

I just purchased a Sig P226. I have small hands and I would like to swap out the grips for something thinner. Does anyone have any ideas?:confused:
 
What's on there now? I've used the original plastic grips, Hogue rubber grips with finger grooves, and the Hogue rubber panels. The original plastic ones were the slimmest of the three. I personally prefer the Hogue rubber panels - best combination of comfort, grip, and size.

I have them for my 229, they are really nice, but your wallet will also be much thinner as well. They are also freaking cold in the winter time.
 
Ive got small hands as well and have gone to the Hogue rubber panel grips as well! They are about as thick as the SIG grips that came on it, but you can actually get a nice grip with them.
 
thanks for the info guys...Is there a way the trigger can be changed so that it is closer to the handle?

You can install a "short trigger" ! Its doesnt change the pull or anything like that, the trigger itself is just narrower. Its a fairly easy job you can do it yourself, if you do a search you will find the instuctions.

X2, the only option
 
Try the short trigger first, I have them on all my 226's. I also have the aluminium grips on my 226 DAK. They are thinner and as a bonus they cover the "hole" where the de-cocker would be. They were pricey though and it's true they do get really cold in the winter.
Check out Sigforum for short trigger installation tips and pick up the Armourers DVD as it will walk you through the steps and teach you about doing a complete overhaul of your Sig.
 
I know it's a little late now but try a 229. (If you have bought one Sig you will want another. It's an addiction) The 229 fits my hand much better even with the Hogue rubber grips I installed and I find that I am actually much more accurate with it. Mine's a 9mm and it is by far my favorite pistol to shoot.
 
The plastic grips that came with my P226 were pretty thin, I don't think you can get much if any thiner than that...I know that Hogue and Sig wood grips are WAY thicker!
