norc shotguns

They are good for the price. Fit and finish is what you expect from a 300 bucks gun. Got over 3000rds in mine since chrismas, never missed a beat.

I dont have a hard time buying a Norinco gun at all. Its no worse than buying the lightbulbs, electronics, clothing, appliances, etc that come from over there.

I guess, but my problem is that they are fully owned and operated by the chinese government, not by a company that operates out of china. Oh well, didn't want to hijack the thread. sorry for the digression.

Leverlover asked about the YL-1JZ, so lets stick to the point here.....he/she did ask for an opinion about a firearm and not a socio-political discussion.

So, to answer the question regarding the YL-1JZ, you're better of buying an Ithaca M37 and having the barrel chopped. Over the years, there have been many complaints about the YL-1JZ and that's the main reason I've stuck to the Ithaca M37. I've got four of them now and maybe two more on the way.
Just can't beat the original!

I had one of the 14" barrels with the GRS.
1) It needed to be broken in, till it had about 50 rounds worked through the action it would not feed some shells 100%. After that it was perfect.
2) The screw holding the rear ghost ring worked loose and dropped the sight on the ground at around 25 rounds. Loc-tite took care of it.
3) With full power or tactical 00 or slugs the slide release and come back all the way and eject the shell (better than winchester). If you snapped the gun down (to the low ready) the side would move forward picking up the next shell and closing the action. I could fire four rounds one handed.
4) If you're used to the side port the bottom port is a pain. If you're not used to the side port, it's not a big deal.

Is it me, or do you guys have a problem buying any norinco product?? I have a real problem supporting the communist chinese government...

Saying 15% of goods in our market place has a "Made in China" label on it is probably an understatement.

Let me guess your trying to reduce you "Chinese footprint".
Well hate to break it to you but...

You pay taxes?
Our Government hands millions to the Chinese for "Aid".

You use a Computer?
Much of the parts inside are made in China.

You buy things at stores?
Many of the worlds largest ports are owned by Chinese companies.

Oh well what do I know, as I'm saving up for a Benelli. :D

I'm not sure how much more clearly I can say it... I did not mean to hijack the thread, so again.... forget what I said, and lets keep the comments to reviews of the shotgun in question.:D

I'm planning taking the norc out for turkey this spring. Gonna be a first turkey hunt for me, I just threw a rmmy express barrel on and some tru-glo sights. Can't wait.
