Help my new SKS won't shoot!!!!

Dammit, this gun wont fire. I took it to the bush, and loaded the mag up to capacity, and the same damn thing happens. The bolt snaps forward nice and hard when I pull it back and there is a cartridge to load. It just goes, "click", no indentation on the primer at all. I can pull back the bolt and the un-spent cartridge flies out into the dirt.:mad::sniper:

I'm gonna take it into the shop I think. I have taken this thing apart several times, reinserted the firing pin a few times, and nothing has worked.

It's funny, I've tried to get one of these for years, and now that I have one, I want to throw the damn thing in the river!

I am voting for broken firing pin, or mis-assembled. Take the bolt apart and photo the pin, then reassemble according to a guide @ surplusrifle.com.

The firing pin isn't broken, it's one piece. It will go in 2 different ways, and I tried both. I printed up the guide at surplusrifle.com, but if you look closely at the guide, it doesn't show which way the pin is supposed to go, ie which way is "up" as the profile of the pin is different on the 2 different sides. The pin fits in only one way in length as far as I know

But is the tip broken off?

possiblly the hammer did not hit the end of the firing pin. Check your trigger group.

I had a similar problem with my "m" model. I didn't have the safety on when I re-installed my trigger group the first time. It didn't seat properly in my ati folding stock. I've never had an ftf in a nork sks other than that, and I have a couple.
