I'm looking for feedback on Vortex scopes. I think they are fairly new.

I was checking out the 4-12 x40mm Diamondback with fixed objective (which is nice to not have AO in higher powers). Overall quality seemed nice. I think it would be perfect on my .17hmr. Any reviews on this product yet?

Not sure about rifle scopes, but I've got the diamondback 10X42 binocs and the 25-75X IMR 70 spotting scope. So far both are excellent. The optics are nice and clear on both, with a barely noticeable amount of blurriness on the extreme edges of the binocs, but at the price, who cares.

The spotting scope is capable of resolving individual scales on acorns at about 300 yds. The moon looks spectacular as well. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but I like what I see (no pun intended) so far. And the price was good, at around $210.00 (before anyone jumps in about you get what you pay for, I'm sure you do, but I looked at $600 Busnhell and Leupy's before I bought the Vortex and quality and brightness is better. I looked through the $2200 Swaro's and are they nice! But at 1/10 the price I can abuse/wreck/lose lots of Vortex scopes and not worry about it.

I'm thinking about a Vortex for my Marlin 336, and from a price/quality/optics perspective, I wouldn't hesitate; I'm just not sure if I want a scope or a ghost ring. Hope this helps.

Rifle scopes, I'm unsure. If you go onto vortexoptics.com they have menu that allows you to find Canadian suppliers. Binocs and spotting scopes can be had from the Calgary Archery Center in Calgary or from Nature's Corner in Edmonton.

I have a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 and I think it's a great scope for the money. Very bright/clear optics (in fact the brightness will put to shame many more expensive scopes). They also have some nice features like the power-ring adjustment that allows you to see what power you're on without moving your head, pop-up zeroing turrets, etc. Also has a Lifetime warranty.

I can't speak for their lower lines but the viper is quite nice.

The Vortex Viper binos were rated best bang for your buck optics last year in Feild and Stream and all the Americans love em. They have the best warranty in the biz and are priced very well.
Im currently dealing on a pair of 10x42 Vortex Razors, I'll let you know what the glas is like if I get em.

Cheers!!

Well I went out and bought the Diamondback 4-12x40. I like it so far, might go shoot it this weekend. I bought mine in Saskatoon, a place called North Pro Sports. He carries most Vortex scopes and bino's.

I have a paid of the 8x42 Vipers, and they are the SHIZZZnit. Awesome binos - got them for about $450 CDN shipped to my door from www.cameralandny.com . Doug is awesome to deal with! Highly recommended.

Yes he is but he won't ship riflescopes to Canada which is what the OP is asking about.

I know Mark at The Powder Keg in Kamloops, BC carries a few. Do a google search for the Ph: #

Ahh yes - good point.

I did find a few dealers in Canada via the Vortex website, and I did inquire about the Viper scopes - most said they could get them inside of a week, although the prices were about $100 - $150 more than in the US (500-550 here vs. 400 in US) which isn't bad considering the BS you'd need to import a scope.

I won't post the names of the dealers, but you can find them yourself on the Vortex site.
