Hi guys,

I got a Leupold Vari-X 2 3-9x40 given to me in a recent gun deal and the seller told me the reticle has shifted to the point it is inoperable. Will Leupold fix me up at no cost, no hassle ect... Ive heard they are great but have never had any issues with a Leupold before.
Would it be possible they would replace it with a new VX II....(crossing fingers) :D

Cheers!!

I've never needed the warranty service, but if you believe everything you read on the internet, they will repair or replace no charge. Never heard a bad word about their warranty service.

Leupold

Just send it back, they will make it right, best warranty in the buisness, you will be pleased.

it depends.
warranties cover manufacturer defects/materials under normal use.
so no, if you drop your rifle from your tree stand onto a rock and theres a 1/2" ding in it, Leupold will not replace/fix it for free.

if its in decent condition with just normal use scratches/scuffs/etc on it then they will repair/replace it no questions.

Thats interesting, I sent in a scope last year that had a chip out of both the front and rear lenses. Both were replaced for free, no questions asked.

Gordon Parks(The tech at Korth) has always done great work on everything I have sent him. What have been your experiences with Korth Agencies?

congrats, you lucked out and had it replaced even though such damages are not covered by the warranty.

as for me, ive managed to avoid cracking my lenses so far - but i have a friend that was told that he would be billed for a bent/dented scope tube and that it was not covered under warranty. not that it should be, he dropped his gun off his ATV.

I am not the only one, I know of others who have had the same good luck and not just with lenses being replaced.

Same here. I sent an ancient 2-7 Vari-X II that had been dropped onto a rock slide on a sheep hunt. It was obviously abused, tube scratched and dented, and the image was oval shaped.

Not only did Leupold repair it, but they installed the newest generation erector assembly and shipped it back with no charge.

They also replaced a Wind River binocular that was not collimated correctly. Sent a brand new one, again, no charge.

I have never heard of anyone being charged for a Leupold repair of any kind.

Ted

My old man dropped the old Vari-X II I gave him on a sheep hunt last fall, the objective bell is dented badly. Gordon said no problem replacing it at no cost.

But sometimes they do charge for repairs, I guess it all depends on how you approach them.

hmm... he still has the scope. when they told him they would bill him for the repair he didnt send it in because they couldnt tell him how much it would cost.

im going to phone him and ask him to just send the thing in for repair and see what happens, or give the scope to me. if memory serves it was a 40mm Vari-X III somethingorother.

Korth agencies is now called Korth Group.

Same great service.

Ive sent some horror story scopes there. Never a problem

Actually they will put any reticle in for about 93 bucks if you ever want to change your reticle. Im getting one in CPC reticle.

hell, if he's not sending it in and cant use it. Then send it to me, I'll even pay for shipping! Korth are top notch in my book, excellent service and super fast work.

Ah soory, You can more or less take a gold ring scope and throw it against a freeking wall and if it breaks leupold will replace it....

Most "normal" wear and tear, no problem.

Sent a VX-II 1-4 in that was snapped in two just behind the central box that houses the windage & elevation dials ... was "run-over" by a truck. Not a warranty, just a pure accident. Repaired as good as new and returned for about $160 ... still way less than a new scope .... very good service and timely turnaround.
