Got the fairs the other day, a 12 guage Premier and a Safari Standard in
20 guage with a set of 6.5X55 barrels as well!:dancingbanana:

I had them out this morning, but forgot the camera!
I'll take some pics tomorrow.
The Premier is a typical , entry level , well made Italian shotgun, points well, nice and tight points like a part of your body!
The chokes that come with it are a bit strange for us, bit not for Europeans I think.
FULL, IMP/MOD, MOD, IMPCYL, and CYL BORE!
This gun , even thoughb I have a bad shoulder, fits well enough that with the plain butt plate I was still able to crush skeet clays for 3 rounds with very little discomfort - I was 2/34drams/equiv and 1 1/8oz of 9's.

HOWEVER, the Safari is anything BUT entry level!!:D
Very nice wood, lots of nice engraving, and lightning fast!
This gun comes with a Bavarian style butt stock, but I ordered mine without a cheek rest. The stock is a non issue after shooting 100 birds with it, but I was a bit apprehensive , to say the least at first.
Both guns have manual safeties, which I like on a skeet field.
The only negative I have ( and it is a very small one) on the Safari is the fact that it is a non selective single trigger.

it's not that big an issue for me, most fixed choke field guns are choked a bit tight for the ground I'm hunting these days anyway, but I would have liked to have a choice between the IMP/CYL and the CYL BORE chokes.

Both guns also only come with a forward bead, but I plan to change that shortly.

The premier BTW, is right around $1,300 and is worth every penny of it.

Pics tomorrow!:D

Very nice!

How come you got two?

I bought the 12 guage to try it, but will likley sell it to someone that wants an O/U.
The 20 guage is mine and NOT for sale!:D
I bought it for the explicit reason that it also comes with the 6.5X55 rifle barrels.
It hanldes so well however, that I can shoot eiother set of barrels without chnging too much,
After firing it today with both the rifle and shotugun barrels, I may just change my mind and put my Tikka combo gun up for sale again!
The rifle barrels print just about 1" at 100 yards, bang on .
The 20 guage barrels smoke skeet clays fine, but I want to use them more for upland this fall.

Nice pair Cat. Is F.A.I.R. a part of Rizinni?

Yup, , Fair is short ofr
Fabrique Armi Industro Rizzini.
I think it is like a Ford/Mercury thing, because the two brothers run the outfit, and then there is BRO Rizzini , that coorporation may handle the european end?
I have a German gunwriter friend and will ask him.
Of course, I could always email them and find out from the horse's mouth!:p

I'm surprised the 12 guage has a hard plastic butt plate. $1300 you say with 5 chokes, not bad.

Th
ey are both field guns Martin, and field guns often have hard butt plates.
The 12 bore is a fantastic shotgun to shoot , it is a tad hevier than some , but not much.
I'm going to weigh them on Clint's postal scales to determine the exact weight of both....

Each is a separate entity. C & P from http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/126784/Rizzini_Premier_20bore_shotgun_review.html

First there is the maker of this gun, Battista Rizzini, who has a modern, well-equipped factory in Italy's Gardone valley gunmaking quarter near Brescia. The company was founded in 1965, and makes good-quality shotguns and over-under double rifles.

Then there is F. lli Rizzini, which translates as 'Rizzini Brothers'. Headed up by Guido Rizzini, they, too, are in the Gardone region, where they are reputed to produce only 25 guns a year, each to the highest standards. Each one is said to be a one-off masterpiece.

There is also Isidoro Rizzini, whose company is better known as FAIR (Fabbrica Armi Isidoro Rizzini, which translates as 'Isidoro Rizzini's Arms Factory'), also in the Brescia region.

Finally we come to E. Rizzini, who made those budget-priced guns many of us remember, as well as many better-quality guns we don't, because the then importer concentrated on rather basic guns. The 'E' stands for Emilio, and his guns are now made by another Brescia area company, Fausti Stefano.

All of the gunmaking Rizzinis are closely related. Battista, Isidoro, and Emilio are brothers, and they are nephews of Guido and his brothers who founded F. lli Rizzini. The Rizzini clan is also related to the Fausti family of gunmakers. Another relative is Caesar Guerini, yet another Brescia-area gunmaker who makes, among other things, very tasty-looking sporters and trap guns ...

Do some more searching for Italian shotgun shenanigans - it's worth reading.

BTW, nice guns. I was interested in a FAIR Xlight Snipe for woodcock and early grouse that a local shop had for sale as a demo. Alloy frame, 24" barrels, and a paradox (rifled) bottom barrel for < 10 yard shots.

JEEPERS!! That's a lot of Rizzinis!!:D
If you google" Rizzini", you get two different companies, but the SAME photos!!
This is why I thought they were the same coorporation - talk about family.
My guns were made in Brescia.
Interesting that they and Guirinni are related....
