brittany or golden retriever

I'm very happy with my chocolate lab Jenny. Very smart, easy going, never hyper and a bit smaller than alot of the mammoth labs around.

I'm getting my first hunting dog in a couple of weeks. It's a Pure bred Brittany who comes from a guy in Northern BC. These are suppose to be one of the oldest bird dogs around. Can't wait to train it. At least I will some help from my 10 year old Miniature Australian Shepard to teach the basics to her. He already did to our other dog ( Border Collie ) who we had put down due to cancer. She was just over 1.5 years old.

Where abouts in Canada you talking. My sister use to raise Golden Retrievers that were pure breds. Her dog alone was a NA champion show dog with pups from her litters doing the same and some champions in Trials. Had a few outfitters buy pups also for birds.

She may still have some contacts for western Canada.

Let me know.

My Brit is going on to 14 yrs. not much hunt'n any more. but she was great in her day..
She was def. the dog to have great w/ the kids and so willing to please I am sure that is what is keep'n here around these days.
She still loves the outdoors but IMO could not handle the cold water anymore.

Love my brit and i can post some Good breeders in the Windsor/toronto area if ya like. just have them book marked @ home not @ work.

Cheers
