Magpul PMag

well I don't think my mags will ever be abused that much, all I want is it to be reliable. Not like those PROMAG junk.

I just got six black Pmags, and I am impressed. Like the dust cover deal (pointless as they are pinned to 5, so on and so forth), and they are light and tough. And cool, did I mention they look much cooler than aluminium mags?

The interesting thing is that black pmags are slightly fatter than the brown ones. you have a better chance of getting pmags that won't drop free if you buy black. Magpul won't acknowledge ( they just tell you to sand down the mags) that but we have seen enough pmags from two different date stamps to stay away from Black. The mold that makes black one apparetly is slightly different. I will only buy brown myself. until there is evidence their mold for the black one is worn out and a new one is being built.

It's not the colour, but the content of the magazine that counts you KKK country hicks.

that only applies to P-mags dated pre 7/07
I've never seen a later one not fall free

Never heard that before, thanks GT
Anyways Brown or OD will look better with the rest of my Magpul stuff on my AR :D

Exactly 0 problems with the 15 or so black ones I have all different dates, they will not all drop free from a Dlask lower though, from my Colts, Armalites, and Eagle (Armalite), no problems at all.
The HK mags to those who own them will cease to be "awesome" once the lips start going, they are meant to be trashed at a certain point, not held onto forever.

That is not true based on my personal witness. I watched the testing with more than a "few" magazines and 6 different lowers, including STAG, BM, COLT and LMT. IT is luck of the draw - the risk is just a bit higher with the black ones. the Brown ones will drop free with lowers when the black ones need to be yanked away.

The magazine well has certain tolerance - it appears that the tolerance of the black ones is slightly off to the fat side. If you lower happens to be on the tight side of the tolerance, the chance of not dropping fee is higher with the black pmags. They are not pervasive - but we must luck out as we see 2 out of 6 lowers fail to drop free- and the two problematic ones are considered to be the Tier-1 manufacturers.
