Stock Thread .. good idea/bad idea?

Just curious if we could gather all the guys out there that know where to legally purchase M14 stocks (synth/wood/etc) to post the name of it, a small pic and if within site rules, canadian dealers ..

With all the problems importing stocks these days, wouldn't it be nice to have a thread dedicated to the availibility of M14 stocks?

Just a thought :p
 
well.... and i know i keep saying it but.... a canadian source is coming soon with 3 styles of m14 stocks to suit your needs.
target, pistol grip and pistol grip tactical all in fiberglass/composite.
other than the aluminum stocks which are in a class of thier own..... The synthetic stock market will be satisfied soon enough :D
 
I picked this one up from Turf on the board. He makes them using USGI synth stocks much like others on this board do. I haven't shot it yet but fit is pretty much like any USGI stock which in my case is nice and tight. Function is great so far and it seems very solid. Finish is OK, it could be better but for what I got and what I paid I have no real complaints. The paint job is excellent and it came complete with a forward pistol grip and removable cheek riser all for under $300 shipped.

FWIW I've seen pics of the stuff 45acpacking is putting out and they look great! In the end for me it came down to price and a collapsable stock which is actually a practical thing for me as I have done and plan to do some hunting this winter. I found that with a scope things started to get difficult with 3" of clothing on your sholder when you try and shoot.

Also the pic is not my my rifle however the stock is the same. I did find that with the Ultimak rail, scope, rings, stock, muzzle brake and not so light m14 barreled action its a bit of a heavy combo but bearable. Its like KevinB posted, "its called the gym, go to it".

So far I found Turf real easy to deal with, very reasonable and the product good. I deffinately recomend him. He also does custom painting of your stock if you like and the paint job I got is fantastic.
