At the risk of stating the obvious, you should chamber-check your hunting ammo before you leave.
Best to find out if you have a hard-chambering (or impossible-to-chamber) round at the range rather than on the other side of the planet.
It felt a bit weird to be loading mags at the range and cycling 200 rounds at the bench without pulling the trigger, but it was comforting to know that they were all going to chamber properly in the field.
