Pros and Cons of the HK USP

Wait, so my comments exposing targettarget for the ignoramus he is are deleted by an overzealous moderator, but his retarded nonsense (for example, post no. 33) gets to stay in the thread for all to see?

I'll look at this in a positive light and assume the mod wants everyone to see target's nonsense.

PS. If anybody needs to smarten up, it's the kid posting about a firearm he hasn't shot, let alone even f*ckin' held. I look forward to another undeserved "infraction" by the good old mods and admins of CGN.

I used to own one in .40, and am sad and surprised to say that it was probably my least favourite pistol ever. The pros were quality and fit & finish, but for me the cons dominated. I found the gun and the mags very pricey for plastic, the ergonomics chunky and blockish, and the trigger rough and sloppy. It was my least accurate shooter, and I really didn't like the dual-spring recoil reduction gizmo, which made the recoil kind of "wobbly" for me. I also didn't appreciate the proprietary accessory rail, and the fact that you have to remove the slide stop to field strip (something I tolerate on 1911s, but not on modern polymer duty pistols).

I've trained on the MP-5, which I absolutely love, and I haven't shot the P2000 or P30, but the USP .40 got a thumbs down from me. However, the ability to carry SAO cocked and locked is a big plus in the hammered duty pistol category.

Thanks for the input

Thanks to everyone for their input. Has anyone seen or shot the P30L. This gun looks interesting. I do not think that it is available in Canada. Does anyone have information on this?

The P30L should come this summer. People who have shot the P30 like it alot, better than the USP. If you can't wait, get a P2000. It's pretty much the same pistol except for the interchangable sidestraps and is available now. Get one either in V1 or LEM

The P30 L will basically be an ergonomic paradise of a gun. 3 different backstraps, and 3 different sidestrap configerations, you can tailor the gun to fit your hand (within its design limits of course)

Pretty much everyone i've talked to (all US guys) that have fired the P30, just love the way it feels. The P30L may have a teeny bit more muzzle rise (due to longer slide & more mass moving) but should be an even more accurate, and just as comfertable gun!

Thats if they ever arrive here :p

They'd better get here! I want.

I would love to get my mitts on a P30L. I would wait on the USP, it is a great gun but I think that the prices will drop once the P30 is made available. I may have to add a P30L to sit beside my USP 40.

Wolverine might do it. I want the DA/SA for IPSC...

Well, unless the LEM trigger version is acceptable as well, in which case I don't really care which one I get, as long as I can buy one. :D
