A CZ sp 01 shadow goes in the holster how?

Not in Production.
In production:
1. put loaded mag in gun, rack slide to load chamber.
2. manually lower hammer. (holding hammer with weak hand thumb and forefinger, pull trigger with strong hand trigger finger, SLOWLY GENTLY lower hammer, all while AIMING DOWN RANGE)
3. take out mag, holster the gun, then top up mag or swap with full mag

= hammer down, chamber loaded, mag full, SAFETY OFF.

In Standard, cocked and locked, as you described.

So in production would you shoot shot # 1 DA, or #### hammer as part of the draw?

Double action. If you #### the hammer for the first shot it will earn you a procedural penalty.

This might explain alot of discussion re tuning the trigger (especially DA) for a CZ sp 01 shadow as a production gun.

The DA pull is significant on an SP01, but with a Hobdell hammer and 11-15 lb mainspring, much better.

USPSA allows more mods to a PD gun than are listed in IPSC rules

CZ has a lot of parts listed as options for the Shadow that allow you to use them on other CZ75s as well.
Different mainsprings, recoil springs, sights, grips etc.

All of which keep you in production as long as you use CZ parts.
