Wild Boars declared pests in Alberta

Can we bring you all the feral horses we have too?:)

My friends are plagued with feral pigs and it is no picnic. They tear the crap out of their yard and put the run on his girls if they see them in the yard.
They are going to get cut down pretty soon.

I'm surprised you waited this long :D;)

That boar went from the field ,to the truck to the meat locker within a couple hours.Maybe we just got a tough one?Harold

They have been getting culled for a couple years if not five already. Trouble is the neighbor that raises them is not much of a fence mender nor seems to care. He says oh just round them up and bring them back over here......

Not to cause any grief between you two but, perhaps a few free outdoor BBQ's of pork ribs, for your friends/family, will convince him otherwise?

Perfect timing to brush up on some spicy Cajun cooking.....

'Tis grilling season Noel ! ;)
One could even drop by his place, to borrow propane or chili sauce....:stirthepot2:

Seriously Noel, all joking aside, I would be too Very Upset if my girls were chased by them.

You have so many options here, local police citing public safety, livestock growers association for lack of responsibility, reeve or mayor complaint department, DNR for health issues and safety of persons and property maybe???

Gosh, even local media, IF you want to that is...

A few good digital photos, attached to emails to government offices at least.

If I were you I would try all and every office & drive your neighbor into lawful compliance, before someone gets really hurt.

PM sent....

No boar in Sask where I live unfortunately. If they did exist here and were declared pests I would make my land a refuge for them. They are great game animals, and it would be nice to ensure they are around in the future. Like someone said already, they also make great eating.

First off, yes there are bore in Sask. I believe they were in the melfort area, or just south.
Second, if you saw the mess they make with their rooting, you'd think twice about having them on your land.
Finally, they are vicious, and could be a danger to children and even adults.
How's your liability insurance? If you feed them and tend them, then you're also responsible for them.
