I have a newbie question. As I sit very impatiently waiting for my new to me Beretta 96D to arrive in the mail (it will be just almost 4 weeks from mailing the cash to when it arrives) I have been looking for .40 ammo to feed it. I have seen some ammo with aluminum casing instead of brass. Are they OK or will they cause problems? Does anyone have any knowledge they are willing to part with.

The pistol group I shoot with had access to cheap CCI Blazer (aluminum cased) ammo two years ago. I'm sure we shot at least 50k of 9mm/.40/.45 with no more issues than with regular brass cased ammo. I shot at least 5k of 9mm with zero ammo problems.

The only downside of Blazer is that it's Berdan primed and not reloadable.

The only problem you will get is:

You will not be able to reload those aluminum cases.

Thanks for the info. I knew someone would have some experience. Next question is were do I hide 1000+ rounds in my house so my wife doesn't get ticked at the cost. I don't think she realizes it is about the same amount she spends on her hair and nails.

If I leave it on the counter she will put it away then I never find it again, her hiding skills are amazing! Either that or my seeking skills suck
