How long have your antiques sat in Customs??

Brings to mind a Long lee I purchased from Canada years ago. Got a letter from customs telling me I had to apply for an import licence.. Called them up and told them it was an antique that did NOT need a licence since it was pre 1899. "Lift the bolt and look at the date on the butt socket!" (1893)
"Oh, we thought that was the model number" DUH.

Hi Sportee the Colt thunderer I was waiting for took 23 days. It was mailed
Apriol 1st and arrived April24th. Had to be sitting in customs as it didn't show
up on the tracking radar untill the 23rd.

I usually have it shipped X-Press or Global express garanteed . So far two days maximum in customs for me using this service. But I had one shipped regular mail took about 30 days to show up and over 8 days to clear customs only.
I usually personally bring mine through. Last week I brought in an original antique Trapdoor. I presented my letter verifying antique status and total elapsed time, mostly spent paying for the GST and PST, was about 5 minutes. The one before that was an antique sixgun. Elapsed time was about 5 minutes also. The dadgummed downside is the 5 hour round trip and $40 of gas!
Ive been checking the tracking number every day and it finally shows that it has left customs and has been processed by Canada Post in Victoria yesterday. With any luck it might be here before the weekend.
How long did it take from the time the tracking number showed it arrived in custom to the time it said it had left custom ?
Have two in transit right now, and nothing new from yesterday. I asked to have it shipped Global X-Press garanteed but was sent express international wich is a bit slower.
I've found that sometimes something happens when they leave Customs, and the tracking info on CP's website doesn't show up until the evening after you've picked it up. According to the site my New Model #3 was still at Customs the day it was in my hands.
I have a Gun In Quebec Customs Right now.
The last couple that went thru Quebec were in and out in 2 days but Because i really want this gun ASAP of course this will be the one that sits there.
Why a gun shipped to me in B.C would come thru Bloody Quebec is just Nuts!
It came from Texas so shoulda gone to Vancouver.

Mine usually go thru Mississauga They are usually pretty fast, I guess it is just the bloody tracking number ! with the other service I use to get, I can track the thing step by step until it reach me. Had the same problem las time I had a gun shipped express international. It showed leaving the USA to canada then nothing . Totally lost track of it for three days. Suddently had 3messages saying ''entered customs'', '' Left customs'' , and '' processed in CP facility'' all at once. Had it in my hand the next day.

have some sitting in Mississauga since two days now , NO FURTHER ACTIVITIES RECORDED according to tracking number and this was supposed to be a 5 day service from point A to point B.
Am starting to wonder why paying for X-Press service if it is to take for ever to receive it No mather what !!

Your Upset after 2 days .
IF a parcel isnt opened and taxed it goes thru in a day or two BUT if they grabed your package outa the line and have to do the paper work for taxes ect its gona be 3 days or maby 10 depending how busy customs are.
Almost every single gun ive had come thru Vancouver is Opened taxed and in Customs a week.
Most of my guns comeing thru back east are never opened and go thry very fast.
you guys have it good back east!
Also any postal Service you use doesnt count down time in Customs as part of the Garenteed delivery time.
My gun must be being opened in Quebec cause its been 3 days.
Im not worred tho as i have a RCMP letter in with that gun.
Yep ! I have been spoiled !! Usually My guns go in and out customs the very same day. (When using USPS Global Express guaranteed) This time I asked for this service, but was sent another way, so I kinda frustrated about that to start. then No activity on the tracking number ! I also as the RCMP letters so I guess I will wait !! Do I have choice ????
