I put a new O ring on the slide tube, and there is no rattle.
Most that DO rattle, have a loose forend, bad O ring, or are an older 760 that have no groove for the O ring.
And the few dozen deer I've shot with mine really didn't notice if my gun rattled, but they did hear the dogs tonguing and the loud BOOM.

7600 .270win - Synthetic with a Nikon Buckmaster 3x9. I just got the scope this past Winter and mounted it with a set of Burris rings. I've only had it out to the range 2x to sight the scope in.. How does everyone find the accuracy of the 7600?
I have a 760 in .35 rem made in 1963 and a 7600 in .35 whelen made in 1989. Love them both, the 760 is at Gunco getting a matte blueing job. Shot 3 bucks w/ the .35 rem last year the only thing rattling was their brains. This year the Whelen goes to the deer woods. Here's my Whelen.

Since when do these rattle? The first centrefire rifle I ever bought was my 7600 in 30.06, no rattling.....ever. I put a Bushnell 3x9 on it with the BDC and it is still my best deer-getter 21 yrs later. It's also a "natural" to point and shoot after grouse season turns to deer season and the 12 gauge gets put away. I'll agree it feels pretty heavy at the end of a long day compared to some of the synthetic stocked bolt actions but mine has been very good to me.
As far as feeding it, mine has a real liking for 150 grn Nosler ballastic tips. Great accuracy in this particular gun/chambering.
