Congratulations, I really like the look of that rifle that rifle. Looks very handy and perfect for hunting - any type of game.

I didn't think they weighed that much though (9 1/4 lbs.),

Thanks Brad, I figured that was what it was.:wave:

Dan took the rifle home last night so I can't weigh it but I will let you know the weight.

There is about 4" of eye relief with the scope, he is trying the different shooting positions and has had not trouble......yet......

Great score. Please let us know how you like it with any scope recommendations as I'm looking at something similar.
 
There are those around who would argue the 2.5-8 Dan put on is too much but for the job he wants to do with this rifle I think it is a pretty good choice.

As with most the Ruger rings the rifle would hold a 40mm easy enough but a rifle like this wants a more compact package IMO. 1.75-6, 2-7x33 would all be a pretty good match p depending on what you want it for.
If it is all close up timber work 1.5-5 wold be a great option too.

I'll get Nugget to add some thought too......

What brand would you suggest in a 2-7 x ww? Leupold?

Dan tried it with the irons, I did not. It isn't his favorite cup of tea but seemed happy with them.
I am used to the flat rear leaf but have done fine with a Vee'd leaf too. IMO the flat top would cover up less field but it could help a bit with sight alignment.

Wholesale sports in Saskatoon had never heard of the 375 Ruger and had no ammo. They said only 2 boxes were available in Calgary and could be shipped.

Uh oh, I'm getting that feeling again...that feeling of NEEDING another rifle. Maybe I do need another 375, the new king as its been said. Do I order it now, or wait until I get the 3 other rifles I've got on order at the moment.:confused:

I got a Vari-x-111 1.75x6 Leupold. Looking for some swept mounts so I can get 6" of eye relief. Just got 100 cases and dies yesterday.Using Hornady 300gr. for range use, and Barnes 270 gr.TSX Flat Base for hunting. That Barnes bullet is one wicked looking projectile! Federal 215's and H-4350 for starting loads. The .375 Ruger was named best engineered cartridge for 2008 in this months issue of American Rifleman. IMHO this cartridge could turn out to be an excellent Bison/Grizzly/ Elk round.
