Miscellaneous AR questions

At some point this summer I'd like to get an AR so I have some questions.

-Where in Canada can one get a 16" barrel with mid-length gas system. Seems there's lots of 16" rifles with carbine length gas systems; frankly they look ugly so I'd prefer one with a mid-length gas system.

-I've heard Stag barrels are exceptionally accurate; is it worth getting a stag over another or does it really matter that much?

-Where can one get a good quality collapsible stock? US State Dept (?) has banned export of these stocks so getting one can be tough or so I hear. What are my options? Best case scenario I'd like to have a magpul CTR.

-LMT full auto bolts, aside from being staked properly do they offer any conceivable benefit over semi auto bolts from other manufacturers?

-To assemble my own upper and lower, am I going to need any special tools?

Well, that's about all I have for now.

If you are going to assemble a barrel onto the upper, you will need a barrel nut wrench as a minimum. Vise blocks for an AR upper would be very handy for this but can be done without. To assemble the stock, you will need a stock wrench. Aside from those two, I've assembled two AR-15's will little more than a good punch set and a hammer as well as the two wrenches.

RRA and Armalite both make 16" middy.

LMT M16 bolt carrier is great - nice to have but it is not necessary.

LPK assemblying - pay Armseat or Wolverine 30 bucks more and let them handle it. It is not an intellectual challenging task but it is a PITA if you don't have all the receiver blocks and punches handy on your bench.

Upper - people sit their assses on the upper while they muscle the wrench - it is a weapon with a 50,000 psi "bomb" going off in the chamber. I do mine with a block and a torque wrench to make sure i have the correct value.
