I have owned maybe six shotguns in the last eight years, some I bought new and some used.
Now maybe I've been unlucky here but only two shotguns have struck "center of pattern" correctly! A Browning Citori and my current Gold.

All the others would shoot up to a foot from center of pattern at 25 yards with a variety of ammunition. These included new 870s, Mossy 500 and a Stoeger. This at 25 yards is dramatic, and at 40.. Well its a joke!

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this- is it cheap manufacturing when cutting the choke threads skewed off center and premium brands use a lathe to center the thread?..

How did they shoot when you simply threw the gun up and fired at a dot on the pattern board?

I would get half decent hits on the board, but nothing full-on so I started trying different ammo/shotguns..

For whatever reason, standing in the aim/snapshooting etc the Browning patterns exactly where it needs to be while the less expensive guns were off target, I've been shooting for a couple of decades- but this was like using a slightly bent barrel!

No-one else here has seen the problem described so I'll put it down to experience, pay the extra $$ for quality and enjoy a perfect shotgun that hits where I shoot.

Cheers.
