I was out bear hunting the other day, and saw a grizzly feeding in an old abandoned field. that was surrounded by some smaller trees.

So I crept closer, of course...I popped out at the fence line, and realized it was a sow with a yearling cub!!:eek:

The wind was in my favour, so I crept out past the fence, took a coupel of pics (with no zoom on this camera, unfortunatley) and then I felt the wind change.

Sow popped her head up and saw me, I put camera in pocket and started to back away. She took a step toward me, so I made sure the rifle was ready and I just backed out real quick...:)

The grizzly population around Pemberton is thriving.

Not far from these pics I took, at least 3 more grizzlies are living.

And on the other side of the mountian range, I've encountered the tracks of 3 seperate grizzlies, one having a front pad at about 7.5" wide, indicating a 8-8.5' grizzly.

If the sow had charged, only the KING OF 375's, the MIGHTY 375 Ruger would have sufficed...A 375-338 would probably not be up to the challenge...;):cool:

Nice pictures Gatehouse, :) had the sow charged, shame on you for getting too close and bringing it to that end. Besides, I doubt you have enough ammo for the "King" ;)

You turnin' wimpy on us an packing the cannon now Gate? :eek: I thought you were hunting bears with your .223/53gr TSX load this spring...:confused:

I have been, but I left the 223 in the truck and set out with the 375 after spotting the grizzlies. I'm dumb, but I'm not ####ing stupid.:p:shotgun:

its ok every year Clarke tries out for the DARWIN awards in 1 form or another mesing with bears

I just can't help it...:eek::runaway:
