G41,K43 sniper and 1941 johnson at collectors source

Just saw them now. The K43 is a bit highly priced I'll agree, especially for being a VoPo with a repro mount, but I imagine all three rifles will sell sooner than later.

The G41 stock appears to have been sanded and reshaped around and behind the wrist to give it that 1950's monte carlo custom look. It stands out like a sh/t house in the fog, if you know what I mean.

The sad reality is, owners of such rifles will see collector source's prices and think they too can get top dollar for their VOPO, sanded g43's and g41's. Yes, they are rare, but fair makret value doesnt quite dictate such inflated prices, IMHO.

Yes there was someone on the EE recently who thought their Ross Cadet was worth Collector's Source prices.. after many weeks I don't think he sold it though. I support him though. If he can get those prices for what he's got, f*ckin eh!

Hey i don't know the guy but its his property and if someone buys at that price its their problem, (i get a kick out of the price for the Deacts like the $1000 svt 40 and the 400 jungle carbine .........yeesh!
but hey if someone is going to pay it ........and they know what they are getting ..........oh well.

He has a pretty good selection though .........that SVD brings a tear to my eye.

Hi, The Johnson Rifle is gone?

Did not catch that one Collector's Source site.............

What were they asking for it?

Cheers,

Bill

Here's the original archived ad with several pics...

Johnson Model 1941 Rifle **SOLD** http://www.milsurps.com/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=574

We maintain ads in the "For Sale or Auction Elsewhere" section of the Quartermaster Stores, for items around the net that we think might interest milsurp collectors. When they sell, we close the ad, but a record of it is maintained to help everyone use the old listings as an archive for valuations etc. Sometimes, you see the same item come up again for sale by someone else and it's interesting to compare prices, but also sometimes additional work done on a piece. ;) There's about an 18 month history so far.

Regards,
Badger
