i am looking at getting my restricted permit soon and am considerign a .22 as the first gun to get give the two product lines and assuming i was looking at two equiviolant models

which out of the two listed would be a better beginners gun the muck mark or the MK3? which one has the best availbiltiy of parts? which one is easyest to service personaly as in Preventitive mantanance and for major sevice from a gun smith?

I've shot both a number of times and I'd go with Buckmark. Better ergonomics and looks nicer IMO...

Never took one apart but I heard Ruger is hard to put back togather...

x2 I have a Buckmark Camper Special, great shooter, easy to clean and take apart and put back together, Had a Ruger...not so much.....for take apart and put together but still a god shooter

Once talking about .22 handgun, there may be only two good choice for the money. BuckMark indeed look nicer and much well designed and well made. Ruger MarK III still look ugly and is not quite user friendly, however I went with Ruger and is happy as hell. They all shoot really well and about the same among of money, both more reliable than many other so call Germany guns. Buy them both?

I have shot them both and prefer the Buckmark. Although the Ruger is accurate too.

Check out the 5.5 Target model. It is very accurate, and will give you a more realistic feeling of a semi-handgun if you want to use it for cheap target practice. You can also mount a red-dot easily, thanks to the integral Weaver rail.

The Ruger feels more like a Luger to me.

I don't have any pistols right now, but I have been considering a Browning Buckmark 5.5 Target and a CZ 85B in 9x19mm, or a CZ 75B in .40 S&W.

The Browning would enable me to shoot a lot inexpensively, and they are great for Bullseye and Speed Steel matches as well.
